Ooookayyyy...then why do they all say to this day that he was fired? Ego?? If it were true he left of his own accord, what was the "Big Problem" Marianne Faithful said was solved by Brian's death??? Why were they so "relieved" when he died, if they had no serious legal problems???

It would indeed have been illegal for them to have used the name Rolling Stones without his say-so, but why on earth would he want to keep that name himself when it had become more associated with Mick Jagger? If he instigated the separation from the others himself, that action should have okayed the others using the band's name. What would HE need it for?

You see, this is my problem with what you say here. There are just too many conflicting reports about what happened on the day he "left" the band for me to believe he was in full agreement with the others. Your argument is good and makes sense, but I have no ability to dismiss out of hand all the evidence to the contrary.

It's all moot anyway, since he's dead and it makes no difference any more. I wish Marianne would post here and clarify what she meant by "a big problem" solved for Mick and Keith when Brian died. It would certainly ease my mind.
