Oh yeah. Stevie Ray for sure. And Bonnie Raitt. And Robert Randolph. He, of course, was already aware of Buddy Guy and B.B. King...:)

I think he may have appreciated one of my fave bands/musicians...Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. They have been around, doing any kind of rootsy music they like, for decades, and have not sold out.

Even John Mayer's blusey stuff is really good. The guy bases his guitar style on Stevie Ray.

I think Brian would have understood, and appreciated, the grunge movement more than, say, disco....{wink}.

And I think he would have gotten more and more into world music. African music {South African among other regions} is just fantastic--mesmerizing. Paul Simon was the one to really incorporate it into his pop/rock sound. And I think Brian would have found uses, and artists, from many genres of world music, including his beloved Moroccan sounds.
