I understand JW would like to avoid the pat happy ending. A Buffy/Angel walking off into the sunset would be a must avoid. What I meant was (& this goes for CC & the Star Trek folks) is that the need to always leave the story open for more sequels means the story will never have an ending at all. And that's OK too. That's how most TV shows wind up in our memories, just continuing on forever. I just would be blown away if one of them made a true conclusion that was satisfying. Not that everyone has to end up together. You seem to want Buffy & Spike to be together but that has less of a chance than Buffy & Angel.

I thought the recent Connor episode was well done. Connor gets to exit on a good note & wasn't the whiney brat he was before. I liked that everyone now remembers the past (well Wes does-I suppose Gunn will if he gets out of hell). Connor finally make peace with his dad & I take it he's wrapped just like Cordy. This sure has the feel of a final season, I wonder where a sixth season was headed.

Latest rumors are that next year we'll get one or several Buffy/Angel TV movies due to the huge outpouring of fan support for Angel. I think that would be fine, if JW gets a bigger budget & the Mutant Enemy gang pulls out all the stops. I don't go out of my way for spoilers and would prefer not to hear them, thanks. JW isn't perfect, he had to fall into cliche at points but overall I give him hard marks still. I'm more excited to see Angel's season climax than those of Alias or 24. Negate the whole season? Too late for that & a cop out. Is this Dallas?
