I on the other hand hanker for S3, S5 & S6 and one or two episodes in S7 & S8. I wonder if they are likely to do a shipper series as well as a mythology series.

I, too, can't afford the full seasons...however, I question the concept of OTHER people pulling out mythology episodes for me. Unless they are doing ALL of them...which considering there are 3 sets of these maybe they are (Did you see there's one coming out in September: Colonization?). I just want the price down to say $57.00 or so per season.

Ah, SERENITY. Good ad! But good movie? Not sure about that...my connected friend came bouncing at me with spoilers a few months ago...opening the conversation with the words: GUESS WHAT? So, I went ahead and guessed...correctly as it turns out. JW has gotten very predictable in some things (though I know I have been off in my BtVS/AtS predictions...but only because I expected more of him). However, he can still write...line for line...and the ad is cool...so I will probably go see the movie with appropriately lowered expectations.

Didn't remember you were a Firefly fan, actually. What are you watching these days? Lost? Veronica Mars? Stargate: The Next Generation? Are you looking forward to the swarm of alien invasion series coming this fall? I like the looks of the one with the Hurricane opening...maybe it's called INVASION?

Re: Lost---David Fury made me proud with his work last season(and has an Emmy nomination for it, too) but the final scene in the finale left me rather cold because I had stated when they uncovered the hatch that it would suck if we ended with that scene because it would mean they had nothing up their sleeves but hairy arms...and voila.

I think XF taught us that an unwieldy mythology and no ready answers can break the back of a show. Veronica Mars did better by answering her questions and then posing new ones. Though I am by no means a huge VM fan...line for line.
