The shockers just keep on comin'!

First, France bows out; the first defending champ (chump?) to do so in Round 1. (Headline of the day: FRENCH FRIED!)

Now it's Argentina's turn to take an early vacation from the proceedings. You knew that someone had to die in the Group of Death (Argentina, England, Nigeria, Sweden), but who'd've thought the South Americans would've been one of 'em?

Oh yeah: how 'bout Paraguay's comeback, with 10 men no less, to beat Slovenia by enough goals to overtake South Africa (who lost to Spain) in Group B. So, as it turns out, someone from South America did come back to make it to Round 2 ... just not the one we expected!


Here's who's already advanced:

(A) Denmark, Senegal
(B) Spain, Paraguay
(E) Germany, Ireland
(F) Sweden, England
{Brazil is in, too.}

The following matchups are set:

Denmark-England
Spain-Ireland
Germany-Paraguay
Sweden-Senegal


So, how 'bout Great Britain, eh?
