I've been doing some reading in I Peter and also in some of Jesus' teachings in Matthew. Some points:

1) Don't be surprised when people hate you if you are a Christian. Your allegiance to Jesus will automatically invite hate from some people.

2) If you're going to be hated, make sure that they don't have anything legitimate to hate you for.

3) Don't be afraid of such people.

We'll be discussing the I Peter passages in my ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship, a discussion/peer group within my church that we have instead of "Sunday School"). I guess I will have a story to tell.

Now I read that a new firestorm has been touched off. Jerry Falwell called Muhammad a "terrorist". There have been riots in Muslim areas of India, and a new fatwa has been issued by an Iranian cleric calling for the deaths of Falwell as well as Pat and Gordon Robertson.
