My daughter's regular school friend attends the academy. Both of our girls dance for different dance schools. Her mother told me she is embarrassed to have her daughter wear the belted dress now. She isn't sure about transferring since she is already in high school and closer to the end of dancing. Her daughter is an amazing dancer but at what cost? She has severe anxiety and an eating disorder after being told she is too fat to dance multiple times.

I didn't want to question if it was the other dancers or teachers who said this but many of the middle to high school age girls there are so nasty to each other behind closed doors. Frienemies at best. Fake niceness on stage and will stab another dancer in the back to make teams or place higher. That mom wishes her daughter transferred years ago. It just isn't worth it.
