If my retired dancer was still young, she would be at Dwyer in a heartbeat. Highly ethical school with proven development results without having a negative impact upon the child. RT is too big and too much about staff egos. Irwin is a recreational school-which is 109% fine if that is what you want!

Irwin is for recreation and performance only, if you want a championship dancer that can win, do not go there. But they can get you through grades just fine.

I know some families that interviewed RT when Millennium dissolved and one of the owners told them specifically “we are not designed to take transfers”. The school is already too big, go there if you want your kid to be a number, imo.

Michael Holland and Nicole Rankin are excellent teachers and their dancers are very successful for being such a small school.

Dwyer is also very successful for being new to central Ohio, they have been in Dayton for years.

I’ve seen a lot of transfers over the years, don’t take this decision lightly-interview the teachers, visit a class, talk to the dancers. There are schools out there that can help your dancer achieve their goals without cheating.

Irwin has just as much talent as the other schools. Each school is run differently too. And most of the girls all know each other from the various schools...

How big is RT versus RRH? Both excellent schools. Would be great to see breakdown of how big each school is. Seven in Cbus, unless I'm missing a few.

Irwin
Dwyer
RT
RRH
Academy ( :P )
ML
Claddagh

Not sure of breakdowns. Their school is increasing in numbers.

It’s just not where they should go. I think what Claddagh does with adults is cool but they are more Ceili and beginner focused.

I personally don’t like RT (more so their school rules and how they block others and some of their champs are snotty to other dancers), but RT and RH could best IMO support the few Academy adult dancers.

My friend’s kids go there. “Snotty” to other dancers isn’t something RT teaches? That’s more individual issues and can be seen across ALL dance schools everywhere? I agree with you on not moving dancers to next level sooner. They tend to participate in most of local feis including second chance too. A bit inconsiderate I’d say..

Good to have adult options in Cbus! Claddagh seemed to randomly pop up one day and I was like "another ID school in Cbus!" I'll check them out.
