There’s a reason why every other school in that area spawned from this one school… meaning all the TCs left.

Whatever school it was, they will be in a world of hurt if they are losing that many people. And probably some of the kids/parents will start their own schools! Migration patterns are fascinating.

What in the original post from the new UK/European/World board indicates it's a Mid America school?

But I'm guessing this question is referring to this comment:

"I know which school. Mid America. Mass exodus impending (NT)"

[> [> [> It sounds like my kids school in MidAm. A bunch of really active involved families have left in the last few weeks and honestly, I’m starting to wonder why I’m keeping my kids here too. They hold dancers back way longer than necessary and there aren’t enough teachers for the amount of kids in the school. One of the school directors thinks the school is just a happy family but in reality most of the parents are unhappy there but just don’t want to commute across town to the better school. -- No name, 18:42:48 01/14/26 Wed (ip-131-241-51-8.dynamic.fuse.net/131.241.51.8)

Wherever these schools are, if the commute isn't too far, it shouldn't be an issue. Unless the next school over is 60 mins. or more one way that wouldn't be a problem.

Don't take it wrong! It's not at you--but is the school you are at a larger one that is like a "medal factory?" I have friends with kids who do karate and there are dojos that are "belt factories." I'm sure ID has similarities in that regard.

I truly hope you can get out of your school and succeed!

It sounds like that is a common pattern in ID, in the US and in the UK too.

Big school of Irish dance with legendary teachers/instructors, etc. TCs leave and start their own schools.

[> [> You're right.. that definitely happens. What's funny is that in this region, the main school does terribly at all the majors while the little spawned off schools all do really well at majors. Yet this main original school likes to say they train champions. They don't. They train rec dancers where an occassional one every few years sees a podium at a major. -- No name, 11:53:52 01/15/26 Thu (ip-131-241-51-8.dynamic.fuse.net/131.241.51.8)

The post about the main school spawning schools that have more success reminds me of legacy NFL teams coasting on reputation. Think the 49ers with Shanahan (who spawned McVay with the Rams), or the Pats with Belichick, etc. Meanwhile their coaches go elsewhere and have success, while the host is coasting on past glory.

(Pats isn't the greatest example TBF; they bounced back with Vrabel this year).

My guess, based on the reference to "family" and such. I may be 100% wrong tho.
