Subject: Can I be infected with COVID-19 twice? there is currently no evidence to suggest that people are immune after recovering from coronavirus. Even if novel coronavirus infection imparted immunity, that immunity could be short-lived and last only a few weeks or months. This would leave people vulnerable to reinfection later.

[> The virus is new, but evidence does show at least short-term immunity after recovery, which is why they are working so hard on vaccines. A handful of people have become sick again, but their initial infections were very mild & may not have produced enough antibodies to prevent a second infection. There is also the possibility these individuals were still infected & the "2nd" infection was just a flare up of the first. Still many unknowns. -- Be positive, 10:06:07 11/20/20 Fri (cpe-65-189-55-125.cinci.res.rr.com/65.189.55.125)

Yes, you can get it twice. A very dear friend of mine is currently sick for the second time.

I should add she was very sick the first time she had it. We are praying this time around will not be as bad.

on e was completely asymptotic. One was actually sicker (although still moderate) the second time around. One was in a 0 plus year old woman on immune suppressant therapy as she battled a reoccurrence of cancer and I cant recall the particulars or outcome of the other three. Just bc something has not been conclusively ruled out is not the same as stablishing that it can occur, that it occurs often. The experts agree it is extremely, extremely rare. And I agree- read the Cdc or other scientific websites rather n than this one

[> [> It's been more like two dozen and all but one case were people with very mild or no symptoms the first time. The one was a terminally ill cancer patient with essentially no immune symptom. -- More, 10:20:07 11/29/20 Sun (cpe-65-189-55-125.cinci.res.rr.com/65.189.55.125)

Additional people claim to have had a second full-blown infection, but those people are believed to have been rare "long-haulers" who never fully recovered the first time and assumed they were recovered before a second flare-up down the road.
