Solstice greetings y'all(because I'm been working with all these southern pipeliners and engineers!)

I've been so absent the last several months, working me bum off over in Colorado on a pipeline project. It's been good though, I've enjoyed the work and the people I've been working with(all men) and it's always nice to have the bank account in the black.

Teri, I hope you're feeling better and have fully recovered from your sinus surgery, and most of all, I hope it helped. I remember I had knee surgery about 16 years ago, and it took me a long time, but I finally recovered from it and was actually improved. I just had to be patient. So I hope the best for you.

Spoot, my dear friend, I hope you and Bobby are doing ok, we need to catch up again, maybe after the new year. Happy holidays to you, spouse, and kitties.

I still contemplate Eddie in my head, almost daily, if not moreso, wondering what he's up to, what he's thinking, he's so removed anymore, it's kind of sad, I so cherished his open vulnerability in the past, that was a gift....I guess we were just lucky to be around when we could experience that aspect of him. I will always hold a special place in my heart for Eddie...

In four hours it will officially be winter solstice, always a special moment for me....as we head towards our shortest day in the northern hemisphere and look forward to the light ahead, may the light illuminate your path and keep you safe and most of all happy and content in life.

I'm doing better now, thanks. My doctor has officially dismissed me, and I think toward the end he was just making stuff up so I feel I'm better off just not going to him any more. So, my head hurts... I'm just going to have to deal. At least it's not the daily pain I was having.
I miss seeing Eddie as well. I really, really wanted to go to Montreal but with us going to New York already in August and now my daughter has to have some expensive testing done in August it just wasn't to be.
I always hope for the best for him... that he is persuing(sp?) what he has always wanted and it's meeting up to his expectations. He really likes to stay in that *cult* area... not much in the public eye when he's not out promoting something.
Anywho...hope you are well!

Hi spooty, Teri, what a surprise! Haven't times changed in Eddie's world for us from a few years ago? I did see Eddie a couple of weeks ago for two nights at his LA gigs. They were really, fun, small venue, 100 seats, so a perfect place to see Eddie. He was funny and has a couple of new bits in his show that brought tears to my eyes. He has this jellyfish routine he does where he's floating around talking to other jellyfish but has no control over where the waves takes him, really funny and clever. He also got into this marching style bit one night very funny, and a new take on superheros that I love, so it was fun. But he just looks so sleep deprived anymore. I can't help but worry about him sometimes, being the motherly synchophant that I am.....word on the street is that Tresa Redburn doesn't work for Eddie anymore.....he did leave the theater by himself one night, who knows. Yay! That sounds like he's enjoying these shows. Much less taxing on his creativity than the huge tours like Sexie (although that was my best chance to see him). What do you make of this television pilot? Although I don't know a whole lot about it at this point it has me a might bit puzzled. I know he likes to stretch and grow and push things... but wouldn't a series tie him down a bit? Maybe he thinks it might be his way into more films.... although I don't see him as a leading actor, he is great in the character rolls. I've really got Eddie on the brain lately.....I was going thru some old stuff and found all these old announcements that Melanie Monchar from PBJ use to send everyone. There was stuff coming through all the time, and articles and always something happening in Eddie's world. Now it seems so quiet, with barely a crumb of bread for us from time to time. But I think it's all a reflection of Eddie and how he's evolved. He was so open and vulnerable in Je Suis as you say that was so wonderful to see. Now it seems he's really retreated on all fronts from being that open and fresh. Maybe he has to do it for personal survival in a public arena, and maybe it just comes with age too, a slight quieting of the emotions and not the need to share so much. I really hope this documentary reveals more stuff about Eddie, because he still just fascinates and intrigues the hell out of me. Hi again! Sorry so long away... we went on vacation, our first family vacation and it was lovely. Have made notes of things to do differently, but we had a great time. I saw the clip of Eddie at the BAFTA's and he mentioned the television pilot... he seemed pretty certain it was going to go, so we'll see. I just got some UK stuff and haven't had time to view it yet... not sure if he mentions it at all on there. Eddie was doing frequent text updates on his site, but the newness must have worn off since he's made fewer and fewer posts. Although I don't spend much time on the Blather site because the color scheme annoys me. Looks like Aristrocrats will be hitting theaters this summer, I would imagine it will play at the Wescott Cinema here (it's known for it's Indy films)... Hi Teri, oooh how fun, family vacation, where did you go? I just went on vacation myself a few weeks ago to NYC....I love that place, never get enough. Yes Eddie said in that Bafta interview that The Travelers pilot was going to be filmed in LA. So....if it flies as a series, Eddie may be spending alot more time in LA. I don't care for the design of the Blather board at all, hate the colors, makes me ill to look at that screen, but I still check it regularly to keep up in Eddie's world. I actually saw Aristocrats earlier this year, Eddie's part is very, very brief, just a few comments, he doesn't actually do the joke. Hi Teri, Myrtle Beach sounds like a fun place to go....I've not spent time in the South, I have this dream of taking a road trip and driving across the US in the northern tier, going down the east coast, and driving back in the south, seeing all those places I've always wanted to go, glad you had such a nice time. Hope you're doing ok from your surgery, has it helped with headaches? That time I met you in NYC was sort of the beginning of a downhill slide in my health. This vertigo problem I've had for 20 years got really bad, so I've been suffering and going to doctors and tests with no help really. I've been feeling surprising well the last couple of weeks, I'm guessing because the barometric pressure is starting to calm down here as we head into summer. So I feel more hopeful at the moment. In the summer of 1999, Katherine Harris, sometime Florida Secretary of State under Jeb Bush (and coincidentally, at the same time, George W. Bush's Campaign Chairman), paid a company called Database Technologies to develop a list of anyone 'suspected' of being a felon on Florida voter rolls. The purpose of the list was to then expunge the voter rolls of those persons named on the list produced. The perameters established by Ms. Harris for this search included such criteria as anyone who's 'name was the same or similar to a convicted felon' or sharing a 'similar' social security number, or the same birth date as a convicted felon. If a person was an 80% match to data on a convicted felon, one was barred from voting. Database Technologies was aghast at such a 'wide net' approach, and even wrote Ms. Harris that the list would contain many 'false positives' - none the less, the list was applied.

Curiously enough, this disenfranchised over (for example) 66% of the black vote for Miami-Dade; only a small percentage of these were actual felons. In addition, Database Technologies was supplied (by Ms. Harris) another list of felons from another state who had since moved to Florida; this was the only list of potential voters from out of state that was supplied. Guess - yes, the state was Texas. This list included those who had indeed been convicted of a felony, had served their time, and were by law now allowed to vote. It also included folks who had only been convicted of misdemeanors. But, all these 8,000 people who had moved from Texas to Florida were barred from voting.

This apparently came in very handy in the 2000 elections.

Interesting to note: Jeb Bush's wife should have been included on the list of felons; she was caught by immigration officials attempting to smuggle in some $19K in jewelry without declaring it or paying tax; this was 'overlooked'...

Also interesting to note, that on election night, the first network to declare George the victor in Florida was Fox News; who was in charge of Fox News Election Coverage at the time? John Ellis, first cousin of George Bush.

No, it wasnt a plot. No, there was no conspiracy. No, they werent up to crooked election politics. But is sure does stink.

I think most of you know I live in Providence Rhode Island. The nightclub that burned was just one town over from Providence. There's nothing else on our local news stations and at work you can hear little conversations like: "my friends brother is still missing" or "John's sister had burns on both hands". It really seemed like a local disaster to me until I turned on BBC news and it was the top story. It was just surreal to hear the BBC reporter talking about my own area. I hope this isn't a bring down, it wasn't intended to be...it's just been inescapable for me since Thursday night.

Hi Cheesy, I think the closer things strike to home, so to speak, the more personally involved we become, so I can understand why you're consumed by it. It was a horrible tragedy, a horrible death for alot of people. And so close to you.....I remember in January when there were historically cold temperatures in India. 1800 people died and we hardly heard a word about it, it's almost as if that's too out of our realm to give shit. Seeing as the Izzard board has finally been killed as dead as someone who fell off a horse, I think it is time for me to do some of my spouting again!!

I have mooned before that I didn't come online to make friends but to be creative with my websites. I had no idea how time consuming this would be for me or how little memory I have in my head and on my computer for snappy software!

I admit, Izzard is the first thing I searched for when I went online almost 4 years ago and I found this community where people chatted live in the Message Subject Box and I have not found that anywhere else online since.

Many things seem to have split us all asunder so much so that we didn't even have an Eddie Birthday party this year.

I think the acting and lack of live comedy to discuss and quote is the biggest factor.

However, I have always thought that one thing that did divide us, but not always to this extent, was the split between the fans who love Eddie despite his sexuality and those who delight in it. Gay people are accepted much more into society nowadays but Transgender is too complicated to explain, even Eddie has problems! I always explain that nobody is 100% male or 100% female, but society encourages us to be so. It is much more complex than that, tho.

The other day, on another forum, there was a discussion about weather women ever bought flowers for men on Valentines day, and that throws up many questions about gender roles - can men deal with women spending money on them and do men even like flowers??!! The straight tv's said they'd love it!!

So there you go!
