(NT) -- Teri~~putting herself up for adoption..**heehee**, 14:09:53 11/09/01 Fri
Oh Teri, can't you ask Lorne for a Christmas present of a long weekend in London? Prices are dirt cheap right now! Send the kids to his ma's? (NT) -- spoot, 02:27:47 11/10/01 Sat
Patti you know he will in this play into February, you might think to go. But watch this space, I am going to be there for the preview performances, and will tell all about it! I don't think that is the ideal time for hiking however! I do think he is not getting any interesting film offers. I bet he is getting some crap offers, but nothing worthwhile. But judging from his good vibes at the recent appearances, he must be feeling good about his decision to go for film. London is a fantastic city BTW, not as magical as Paris, but chock full of history, great neighborhoods, museums, and of course, best of all, Brits! (NT) -- spoot, 01:48:18 11/14/01 Wed

I know Gum, but the people don't seem to care! We are such a frightened nation right now, we are likely to give up all our freedoms just to have the illusion of security. Interesting times, we live in. But on a good note, the latest elections went well for the Dems. This Justice Department stuff feels like they are getting ready to build 'relocation camps for suspicious furriners'. But we'll see. Meanwhile a Republican journalist made an interesting remark, he said it was troubling that the more prosperous a voting precinct, the more likely it voted Democrat! Well duh! Hi Patti how great to see you again! Yeah it was fantastic to see him in LA, just a few blocks from the Henry Fonda Theatre. It was pure joy, in an odd way, it was better than some of the Circle tour, he was so relaxed and seemed happy. As for our reaction to all this, yes, it was a wake up call but an awful lot of people rather just go on sleeping. We need calm and intelligent leadership now, instead of hype and bluster, but I am getting the feeling more and more that nobody in power knows what to do right now. I know what to do though, just go on with my life, pay bills, go traveling, play with my kitties, and dream of Eddie. (NT) -- spoot waving at her namesake!, 03:14:32 11/08/01 Thu
Sounds like it was a great evening!...turning green again..."Calm and intelligent leadership" needed - and we have the Shrub. He seems to have some good people around him. But if you want to hear an intelligent, articulate presentation from a chief executive, listen to Tony Blair. I hope to be participating here on your site from now on. I saw that, had to laugh. This one doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell over at the Senate. If the Democrats aren't brain dead they oughta be able to use this in the midterm elections, provided they aren't temporarily suspended for the war effort. But oh I forgot, the Democrats are brain dead, doh! Gotta love those Republicans, they know how to set priorities! (NT) -- spoot, guffawing with laughter...well, almost..., 01:51:06 10/30/01 Tue

Aw Gum i tried to read it but I think I am woozy from lack of sleep! I must say in a general way, I have always felt great sympathy for the Irish people who were subjugated and abused by the Brits since the Norman Invasion. But I don't know enough about the IRA to really have a judgement of them. Must find out more about it, yikes, when I am unemployed! (NT) -- spoot, 01:25:45 10/19/01 Fri

Hehehe - if Eddie had done any worse (to match Gustav) he would have no acting career. Was the score all organ music? I agree the Schreck looked a little strange - but my perception was slanted by the scenes at the beginning, where he was standing all by himself, a little tiny stick figure...hardly overpowering. music has always been my salvation when there's serious things going on. I've spent my vacation week with some of my old vinyl faves, classical stuff, and gospel/spiritual. I have to say I'm with you on this subject, MW. Maybe it's coz I'm so repressed but some of the stuff makes me squirm, and not in a good way. I was tempted a while back to submit a satire on the fan fiction, sort of all panty and silly with a sort of wry twist in the end, like finally noticing as you go in for the hot snog in the end, that Eddie has a big ugly cold sore on his lip, summat like that, but shit, lately I can't even write emails! I do salute the creative energy and love behind all these writings though.0 (NT) -- spoot, 01:03:58 10/03/01 Wed

I heard on NPR (I think) that Afghanistan's society was utterly destroyed by the war with Russia, the country fell into chaos, there was no government, only fighting factions. When the Taliban came in, they were welcomed by the desperate people because they promised order and authority. Much like the Nazis did in the thirties. Osama Bin Laden seems to be like so many terrorists, born with wealth, educated, and then converted to some extreme cause. In Osama's case it was fundamentalist religion. As for why we are hated, well, Eddie said it best, we are the Romans. I think the Taliban won't last, as long as we don't help their cause by making them seem like victims. And I feel better about Osama going down, today I heard that all over the world, other countries' police are arresting members of his network! (NT) -- spoot, 01:47:00 09/22/01 Sat

Hello Gumtree, so nice to see you after yesterday. I find this time that I have no answers, none at all. I feel this is one of those times in history when we suddenly find all the rules of nations have changed and we are all without map or direction. Why did this happen? How did this happen? What do we do now? What is true and what is fallacy? Inside I feel humble and quiet. I have read so many different reactions from people, some overcome with anger, needing to strike back, some pleading for love and nonviolence, some filled with patriotism, some filled with guilt for the blood on our hands. I feel all of these things and the conflicting emotions and thoughts have stopped me and I realize that I have too many questions and no answers. (NT) -- spoot, 01:53:49 09/13/01 Thu

Ah yes - fragrant times, they were - hence, laws were passed in Paris forbidding the emptying of bedpans from upper stories during certain hours of the day. Why were "nosegays" so popular? to provide a comparatively pleasant scent to what was going on around you...after all, in the Court of King Henry VIII, straw were strewn about in abundance - not just for the animals all about, but to hold the trash trown from the table (flinging gnawed bones, etc. over your shoulder was common practice)...Now, then - where do you think the term Privy Council came from? Yes, its just as bad as you think... (NT) -- gumtree, 14:01:18 09/04/01 Tue

Hi Dorien and what was the name of the docu, was it that one called What sex Am I? The writer/director/actor of Hedwig and the Angry Inch was on Politically Incorrect and he said that he meets so many transexuals because of his play and he says most of them post op stilling fancy girls so that make them lesbians. I would think the bigger adjustment to be made is by their partners, who must go from straight to lesbian. I guess for those who stay together, love conquers all. Amazing what the human heart is capable of. (NT) -- spoot, 20:19:45 08/19/01 Sun
