Well now that we are members, maybe we oughta put some piccies up! There are a number of them that will blow people's minds! I like that this club is not just focused on the Glam rock boys but has the wonderful sprite Alan Cummings in there as well. He's a seductive depraved presence in any film or play he appears in. And in interviews he's a sweet little boy with a marvelous Scottish burr. (NT) -- spoot, 13:46:44 08/19/01 Sun

OK, I concede that the Earth is NOT flat!!........That is ignorance, we KNOW it is not flat. The Moon was a bad call, it is such a big subject. One I should not attempt to discuss here. The controversy was started up because the photos that were released appeared to be fakes. Have you ever studied them?? The flag would not wave in the breeze - no atmosphere etc etc..There have been books written on the subject. I personally believe man did land on the Moon, but my jury is out on weather we have been shown the correct evidence. What I really mean by all this is that Life is The Big Question. We must never believe that we know everything there is to know about anything. (NT) -- Magenta, 07:32:49 08/10/01 Fri

kisses to you BZC! Hmmmm I remember my dad saying once, at a party-he was drunk, he joked that I kept treating him like an old man when inside he was 16 years old! I know what you mean, Dad, my body knows about time but not my mind. Inside, a minute can last an eternity and yet a year can be gone in a flash! And the only thing I really want to do is be silly and laugh a lot. You do that all the time and they put you in a padded cell but it seems logical to me. Spent time with younger Izzardites today, their expression for 'over the hill' is 'about 40' and I reminded them that Eddie will be 40 next year. We are all young at heart here, and that is special. (NT) -- Magenta, 17:24:17 08/09/01 Thu

I think Mr. I hit it spot on - its "sexy" for women to wear men's clothes (or at least pants and such like were considered such, now its just normal...) while it is still considered either weird or at best comedic (Robin Williams as Mrs. Doubtfire, Flip Wilson as Geraldine, the whole Monty Python troupe, etc. etc.) - why? because most women don't think a man in a frock as sexy (like men used to think about women in pants). Until this changes, men will still wear what they do. Golly, I hate ties - wont someone start calling them "dorky" or sommink? (NT) -- gumtree, 08:27:17 08/06/01 Mon

Now I don't mean to offend, but I often wonder if Baby G himself was funny. I like to think that he was, along with being spiritual and passionate. Believe me, I'm not looking to get struck by lightning (saying a little prayer), but if we feel this way about Eddie, I wonder if this is the feeling that people got around the world when they met some very attractive people, not attractive in the physical sense, but in that pull to the soul, to the inner spirit, whatever makes you YOU. So it's modern times now, and maybe Eddie is the prophet of free-thinking and laughter.....or something like that. (NT) -- Roxy, 15:31:38 07/24/01 Tue

The first time I saw Eddie was the last bits of D2K, on a night that I was just flipping through the channels....I thought...Hmmmm! THIS guy is very cute! ....and then I listened, and laughed and laughed. I was upset that it ended so quickly. I saw Robin William's name in the credits...and thought, ok, this is good....the next morning I was trying to explain how funny this guy was to my Hub...but I hadn't caught his name, so it was luck again to catch the show the next time. I honestly didn't think, why is this guy wearing make-up? (But remember, I grew up in love with Tim Curry from seeing him in RHPS, AND I grew up in Greenwich Village...soooo...yeah....) He looked wonderful to me immediately, and I was instantly caught up in his roller-coaster of a brain. I will forever be thankful to him. (NT) -- Roxy, 16:42:12 07/20/01 Fri

Hey Magenta...you are a BEAUTIFUL SOUL!!! MWAH! I had daily religion classes during grammar school...which of course, means I absorbed ALL of it...NOT! I can barely remember anything from classes, just that I had to memorize the Ten big rules, and our pastor would come in to the classrooms by surprise and say "YOU! What's the 6th Commandment?!?" "YOU! What's the 9th Commandment?!?" and we were at once frightened, yet wanted to please him.....years later, we heard how he used to carry a GUN (!) when he walked through the Village....nice, huh? Glad we knew the commandments back then! I don't remember being told that other religions were *wrong* - they just never even TALKED about any other religions, that's how they got around that...... Agree entirely, 100%.........Futher down, when I said Jesus was a prophet, once I had posted, I thought "oh, sht, did that offend anyone??" Do you believe in the bag of Charcoal bit?? I don't take any of the Bible literally, but there is a lot to be learned there. I find my religion comforting too, I don't take a lot of the laws literally, but I love the traditional bits. It does improve my life. (NT) -- Magenta, going on as usual!!, 19:03:33 07/18/01 Wed
Vex! Yeah the tart is here! Next time bring Val, we need a bit of naughtiness, keeps us from getting all frowny faced! I don't even know if we are *supposed* to understand this....I mean the whole Trinity thing is impossible to understand...Father, Son, and Holy Spirit....ok....but they're all the same thing? Yes....ok......I've never been able to imagine God - so to me God is all things, Jesus I can imagine because I was always shown drawings, etc., so that's what has been ingrained in me. People would fight when discussing what Jesus looks like when you DO get to see him in Heaven....and I'd always think, well...he'll look like YOU, or whatever you'd imagined he would look like.....that type of stuff.....relaxed and groovy, totally! Oh! I didn't expect such a RUSH!!! :D Thanks for your replies, guys, I can feel the love - which is my idea of following the *rules*. Maybe I'm copping out on the beliefs in my born-into religion....but I really DON'T take things literally...ever since I was little, the whole Bible vs. Science conflict of how the world was made always seemed ridiculous to me. I knew we had tons of knowledge and physical evidence of the millions of years it took for the earth to get to the present......I just couldn't figure out why no one would think that maybe *God's* days are waaaaaay longer than *our* 24 hours! And since the writings in the Bible are told through generations, then it makes sense that they are meant to give you something to think about, not necessarily something to take literally.....*that* is what always made sense to me, and it never created a conflict - for ME.... (NT) -- Roxy, 15:46:24 07/19/01 Thu
On the subject of those who will go to the bad place.....well, that's one thing that was REALLY scary as a kid - but I grew up with going to Church on Sundays, many times with my Mom, lots of times with the other kids in my class - because we HAD to (needed a note signed by the priest to verify that we were there)...but rarely with my Dad. I used to be scared that he'd be sent to hell because of this....but my Dad is loving, caring, selfless, hardworking, honest, kind-hearted, strong...well...I can only strive to be like him.....but I firmly believe that he deserves to end up in Heaven, wherever or whatever that is....even though he doesn't *gasp* go to Mass on Sundays. He gets upset at how the Church is so political, and has always bristled at the apparent avarice of the organization part of the religion. (NT) -- Roxy, 15:56:04 07/19/01 Thu
...And Vex...where's that other can? The re-incarnation thing....I have LOTS of feelings about that....that our souls continue, so why not come back for another ride??? I guess I'm one of those Catholics that should be lumped into the *weirdo* category! LOL! I just think that if you're good, you're good....whether or not you're following those old-time rules.....and conversely, there ARE people who might outwardly follow rules, but that have black hearts....evil DOES exist...the whole *wolf in sheep's clothing* thing... (NT) -- Roxy, 16:05:46 07/19/01 Thu
I've had the whole thing about feeling like I've been someplace before (outside the US), where I haven't been....I feel connections to times far away from this lifetime, both happy ones and frightening ones, and I do feel that theory about a core of souls that connect again and again....pretty cool, I think.
