Politics

To me, Eddie is naive about politics, even tho he knows a lot of facts.It doesn't seem to matter a lot who you vote for nowadays, nothing really changes. Our so called democratically elected governments don't seem to hold all the power anymore.

Sex

Like most of you on this board, I can't stop discussing Eddie's sexuality even tho I'm sure he wouldn't be pleased that we do. I think he would be pleased that at least some of his fans 'get him' cos I don't think most of his fans do, a lot of them see him in a beard and dream up this fantasy Mel-Gibson figure that they want him to be..........I myself think that he'd like to be Sean Connery, but Emma Peel at the same time!!

I can't quite avoid the subject of homophobia when discussing transgender subjects.........
I don't want to mention anyone in particular on this board, but Gummy, I know you don't hate anyone and I have always liked your on-board personality, but it's the way you say things sometimes like..........

You appear to be assuming too much..If you are talking about gays only, that is homophobia, if you are talking about *anyone* then that comment is accepted.
Again, straight males who rape and beat far outweigh homosexuals who commit sex crimes.
As for my own sexuality, I am happy to discuss it with anyone here off the board in email, but do not feel comfortable discussing it on a public forum.

Religion

Eddie makes fun of it and doesn't believe in it, but there is nothing wrong with religion per se, the problem is how it is used as a reason for countless wars and racial intolerance.
I'm Jewish, born that way, had to put up with a lot of racial abuse as a kid.I do not live up to any of the stereotypes at all, except, probably I do feed people a lot!
It really doesn't matter what religion you are as long as it improves your life and the lives of the people you encounter on the way. Nobody needs religion just to be a good moral person.If you use religion as an excuse to hate, you are going wrong somewhere.

I am ready to justify/defend and explain the above!!

Well! *G* - on politics, Im not sure that I agree - who you vote for does make a difference...give Mr. Bush and crew a few years, and we'll have required prayer (Christian, of course) in public schools, Corporations running welfare for strategic slavery purposes, and other things, besides. On Sex, and folks preferences, you can count me in the category of applying my statement to anyone. Religion - no, theres nothing wrong with it. I just dont like the idea that any single set has all the answers - especially to the exclusion of any other ideas. But, thats just me - I dont impose it on anyone else. Last year, economy good, budget surpluses, abortion rights secure, a president who, for all his faults, seemed to care about ordinary people's concerns. Uh sex, yes, more of it, any combination you like, as long as it doesn't involve children, animals or any kind of violent or abusive acts. As for gender, I'm beginning to feel it is a red herring, I don't know what is truly gender specific behavior or attitude or viewpoint. Everything I can think of as either "male" or "female" attributes seem to be equally natural for either. Aggressiveness, intuition, nurturing, logic, bitchiness, passivity, strength, action, allure, submission, domination, all of them are either male or female, depending on the person expressing them.     - Wow I'd really be impressive if I could spell! Now religion, err religion is fine as long as you separate it from the religious experience. I mean some one like Jesus or Buddha has a moment of searing insight, he experiences God or Enlightenment, a transcendent moment when he sees the Truth of all of existence. This knowledge is impossible to demonstrate to others, it has to be experienced, but he tries, going all around the countryside preaching his story, eyes on fire, and the people are drawn to this speaker that they begin to follow him and commit every word to memory, the legend grows up around the holy man, it is written down and become sacred text. When the Holy man dies, everything is preserved and revered as dogma. So now we have a religion, but the Holy Man's indescribable transcendent experience, that has eluded everyone.
