Hey Roxy - It's the same mindset that allows Religious Wars to happen. Religion - something that was meant to help humans connect with each other and with "whatever" - is used to drive deep wedges between us. If you can disconnect with your fellow human, somehow see them as "other" and "not human", it just makes it all the easier to kill 'em. Sad really, since we're all essentially the same. If only humans could accept "connectedness" without a need to define "otherness"....
