I have to say I'm very ambivalent about the whole cloning/stem cell research/ genetically altered foods stuff. On the one hand, especially in the stem cell issue, there is such human suffering and illness that affects loved ones and I am pinning hope on a cure. But on the other hand, there is something Frankensteinlike about all this tinkering with the natural life process and we are starting to play God, yet wisdom seems in short supply. Oh brave new world!

Yes, there is a lot of pain and suffering and disease in the world. No, I do not believe that genetic reserch is the answer. I believe that we should treat the CAUSE of disease first. (

Okay - what causes AIDS? Cancer? Altzheimers? The only progress we have made in combating these diseases has been through genetic research. (
