• Happy 4th(?) Spoot and all! Spoot the ending of your post hooked me...as many know I've been a huge Bee Gees fan for eons (or so it seems) and I have banged on and on about them and their choices lately of trying to sign with a 'big boy' label...it's absurd! I have faced the fact that they will probably not be in the top 10 ever again but they still write and produce some great songs (this last cd wasn't great, admitedly) but what I'm getting at in my long and disjointed way...these guys have the power and money now to get away from huge labels and try some sort of independent music making. I think the smaller independent companies are the way of the future..there are some great innovative movie makers and music makers who are paving the way in the independent genre. Eddie may not get leading man status or be in a big blockbuster film but I hope he stays true to his vision of being in films and steers clear of the big hollywood machine. • Hi Teri. My eBay obsession was short-lived. already had Eddie stash, so i hit the oldies--lenny Bruce, Python,etc. Exciting at the moment, but easily forgotten. All that quick-timing! • Stephen King tried something like this recently. It flopped though, he was selling a book over the internet, but they didn't get much of a response.   • I know that Prince and David Bowie tried to set up stuff direct with fans but I could access their websites, my flash on netscape is wonky now. I think it's in it's infancy now but the whole concept is loverly. Tell me, if you could download a ten minute little short film of Eddie doing something exclusively for his website, and it cost $5.00, would you pay the money? I would!!!! I do think that it's the way of the future but on the other hand there is this great 'digital divide' between those who can have computers in their homes that can handle the technology and those who can't. I think that maybe in the future the web will be only cel phones and stuff like that and maybe it'll be like boomboxes, everbody had one of those and they sort of carry it around. The business with Disney sounds hideous, but typical - much of Corporate America is busy undermining itself with "self-examination" - we have even seen it at the Lazy L.   • yes Gum, when I worked at Nickelodeon I had change to meet some of these so-called high powered Mid management types from NY Headquarters, sent in to get a handle of the locals. It was truly amazing how stupid and clueless they were. They had all sorts of directives on the New Way we had to do things, and once implimented, the shit really hit the fan, spewed everywhere, mass confusions, angry phone calls from our outside contractors and actors, etc. The new rules were usually quietly rescinded a few weeks later.
