Subject: LOL Gummy, you know socially acceptable is such a sieve innit? I mean all those Repubs getting all upset about Clinton's BJ and then, oops, a little bit of a mess in their own private lives, socially acceptable is what everybody kowtows to, not what they actually practice. And because I'm lazy I've copied and pasted thisold post of mine from Teri's board, it kinda links to your discussion above-CLICK HERE
In reply to: a little more, for clarity 's message, "...this is not to say that I am anti-anything! Just a curious conundrum. What is normal? Normal is usually defined as what is generally societally acceptable. Murder is not societally acceptable - except when everybody (or the ruling class) agrees to it! Oh yeah? What's the death penalty? What is war - even "just" wars are "making the other bastard die for HIS country" (thanks, General Patton). By and large, I have really never seen anyone but the obvious bigot decline conversation with any other person, except in a crowd - again, societal acceptance, mob rules. *sigh* - Its late - and Im losing my thread." on 00:21:06 07/11/01 Wed

I have to say this whole gay thing as some crow bar separation is very suspect to me. When I was a young gal I had gay roommates for a few years in Gay old San Francisco BEFORE aids, and due to a painful love affair gone rotten, I was a serious fag hag for a while and man, did my apartment see an asortment of gay men!

Well what was weird was the very sexual vibes I got from so many of them, and the convoluted life stories I heard. I think I met only one guy that had never been involved with a woman, and loads of them had had very serious, emotional, dramatic love affairs with women, all the while saying they were gay! And of course they told me of the countless straight married men they had picked up at bars or public restrooms or parks, so I really came to see this whole thing as a convenient box that wasn't really there.

I think it was Kinsey or some other sex researcher once did a test on male arousal using sexual images. The guys' penises were hooked up to a machine that measured arousal and they were shown all kinds of porno images, straight and homosexual. The straights denied they were turned on by gay sex and the gays by straight sex but the machines recorded arousal in both instances. Guys are such horndogs!

How about the women? Well most gay women I knew were even more indefined, most had started out as straight and later just fell in love with a woman. That makes sense, there are more women who are decent human beings, than men, I feel. OOps sexist comment there.

Okay that's it, just had to add to the mix there. G'night!
