Subject: Well I don't know about abhorrent, I think it's just a cul-de-sac, as the genes of gay people are not passed on but in the animal world a lot of males never can mate, they don't win those mating battles for the females, soo....what you gonna do, eh? Personally I wish there were more gays, maybe humans wouldn't number in the BILLIONS then...top of the food chain and there's soooo many of us, I feel our species is like cancer sometimes, uncontrolled growth and deadly metastasis until we overwhelm the host, the biosphere! That's fun!
In reply to: gumtree (digging deeper and deeper) 's message, "Im not sure about Mr. Vidal, but - nature vs. nurture - who put the "vs" in it? I believe that we are Human Beings, a blend of genetics and environment - you cannot separate them. All but basic behavior is learned - and learning has many forms, only one is "the way yer raised." We make decisions through our lives (not making a decision is a decision) - and with personality one tends to what works (which can include being outrageous to society - being "different" can be as strong a desire as many others). On the "nature" side of things, if we are honest, homosexuality is abhorrent - (wait! READ) as its counter-survival, in a species-survival sense. I know of no animals that practice same-gender sexual relations (on a continuing basis) except Human Beings (I exclude infamous Malthusan experiments with lab-rat overpopulation). Why is this? Our overdeveloped fore-brain, re: decision making capabilities? Where does this lead? Why am I writing this? Aggh...." on 00:10:01 07/11/01 Wed

  • Ha! Gumtree! I was thinking about this EXACT thing tonight- how it is unneccesary for a species to be gay, as the main job of a species is to reproduce and survive- yet there are gay people- so whyyyy? (NT) -- Bin! asking rhetorical questions like its her jobbbbb :), 04:06:25 07/11/01 Wed
  • Gum, the question is usually nature vs nurture, but I believe it is a bit of both. Also that nobody is born 100% male or female. The 50/50 people get the hassle. (NT) -- magenta, 07:32:01 07/11/01 Wed
