Subject: Hi Gumtree, just a thought here, but I have never felt that Eddie has really defined what he considers his private life. He doesn't want to talk about certain people because they don't want to be spoken about(very respectful), but I feel Eddie talks about his private life all the time in his shows. He's constantly bringing up what I consider to be very personal bits to elaborate on a topic. In London a few weeks ago,he spoke of his grandparents Charlie and Lou, and talked about his brother Mark's accent. And in Seattle last year the final topic being different people's accents, he spoke of his beloved mum and boarding schools and horrible directors, etc. just to get around to the accent part. I feel he's very public at times, maybe too much.
In reply to: gumtree 's message, "Interesting....praps what folk are seeing is Mr. Izzard being counseled to "tone it down a bit" for an Amurrikan audience? Praps its also preferrin to have one's private life in private? Praps its the influence of having a constant female companion? Praps is a combination of all of the above? Ho-hum - the man's personal preferences are not a real concern. You touched on another area, however - the "dangerousness" of a free mind. As long as he don't start endorsing a particular soap powder (Are you happywithyourwash?), I think we're okay...." on 00:37:13 06/24/01 Sun
