Subject: Wishes from Around the World 2001

I know there are many here that aren't fans of Peta's, but I am doing something right now that I thought some of you might like to be involved in. I know *I* need something to do right now to know that things go on. So if your interested, please read on.


WISHES FROM AROUND THE WORLD 2001

As most of you know, Peta's 31st birthday is Nov 18th and approaching us quickly. With everything that is going on around us now, all the worries and stress of the latest events, I've decided that I want to do something to be reminded that life goes on as well as get in the upcoming holiday spirit. So once again I'd like to do Wishes From Around the World.

What this is, is a gathering of Christmas greetings, well wishes, postcards, color art from another child, letters, etc from all over the world that will be sent from the fans of Peta Wilson to The Hospital for Sick Children, one of Peta's charities of choice, in honor of Peta's 31st birthday. The package then will be distributed to the children at Christmas time. I did this in 1999 and the hospital loved it. It really raised the spirit of the children who couldn't be home on Christmas.

If you are a parent, encourage you children to get involved. Maybe they would like to ask for a penpal. If you are a teacher, let this be a class project. Have them make Christmas cards, color Christmas pictures. You can also send stickers, coloring books, colors and markers…anything that would be entertaining for a child enduring a hospital stay.

In 1999, I received over 300 cards from people in places such as Canada, Sweden, Finland, USA and Spain as well as over 100 items such as mentioned above. I would like to see cards from even more countries this time. I believe this is more important that ever right now. This gesture takes very little money and only a small amount of your time. The reward of knowing you made a child smile at Christmas time will come back to you ten fold.

The deadline in which I would need to receive all items will be Monday, Dec 3rd. This is so I can get the package sent to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada in time for it to arrive by Christmas.

Get yourself involved. Get your children involved. Give a child another reason to smile and fill them with happiness and holiday cheer. What a wonderful way to say Happy Birthday to Peta.
