I've never really made a point of censoring words here- my only firm rule has been "no name calling or attacks against against other posters"because that's the only way to keep this a forum where everyone can express themselves. Let's face it there's a differance between saying "I couldn't get tickets and I was $#@! pissed" and "you're a !$#$%##@ asshole"

As far as the parental thing, if my son told me he should be able to stay out past a certain time because Jonny's parents let him do it, I wouldn't go to Jonny's parents and ask them to change that.(man, I don't know if that's wussy or ballsy!) My attitude "Well kiddo- this is my rule and that's it." Period. I like to think I'm my son's best buddy but I'm his parent first.

So as long as everybody expresses their opinion in a fairly respectful manner (and we've been able to do this just fine in the past)- fine. If I have to give you a gentle little hint- I'll do it. If a post is really out of line - *I'll pull it* and I won't take no crap about it ,either.

And for all the newcomers and lurkers who are coming out of the woodwork- pay special attention- express your opinion respectfully or it's gone -*poof* and I have to say the "get a life" was a bit out of line.

If our heroes turn out to be human, it's not the hero that needs to re-evaluate but rather the hero-worshiper.

These are heady times on this board. And though many of us wished it to happen, I doubt many of us would have believed the events of the past two weeks would come to pass.

It IS different around here. We used to speculate and have our own ideas of what Burton was like. Now we get to ask a direct question and find out, or we get to read from the man's own diary. And while I will readily admit to not being "hip" enough to coherently participate in many of the discussions -- I have very limited knowledge of many of the musicians that luxton mentions -- I certainly hope that I'm as welcome here as the more knowledgeable fans, and luxton will continue to be as honest, and sharing as he has been. It will always remain my choice as to whether I want to stay or go.

BTW - I have a twelve year old daughter who used to love to look over my shoulder while I read and/or write here on this site. Interestingly enough, she popped in while I was reading this message. I asked her what she thought about it and I liked her answer: "Reading it on the board wouldn't make me want to start doing it." Smart kid.
