Author: Orbital of the Council
Subject: Conversation

The first thing Alex noticed upon entering the park was the surprising amount of flora. The park was almost entirely Technorganic. Save the Transformers walking through the park, there was very little metal found throughout the park. Even the benches were made of wood.

Orbital led Alex through the park for a few minutes before they came to a large bench engraved with what looked like an ivy pattern running up the legs. Sit down, Alex. Time for a talk.

Alex, confused yet compliant, sat down beside Orbital. Orbital stared out at the passing Cybertronian citizens for a few moments before he finally spoke.

Alex, I have no doubt in my mind that you were told the same story as we were by whichever Senator assigned you to the Council. That we are a legitimate, governing body of Cybertron. That we each represent an important, high profile faction of Cybertronian Citizens. That we are the third leg of the Cybertronian Government. Would I be wrong in assuming this?

Alex was really confused now. He shook his head. Not at all. That’s what I was told. In fact, that’s what all of Cybertron has been told. The Council is held in high revere among the Citizens of Cybertron. Not that I’ve been a citizen for long, but even I know this much.

Orbital nodded his head. Yes, the Senate is really quite clever. They even had us fooled at first. In fact, they are even now convinced that we still buy completely into their ruse. They are wrong for thinking this. You’ve a lot to learn, Alex. Perceptor has asked me to bring you out here, and fill you in on things. He wants all of the Council on the same page, with the same information. It’s my privilege to be the one to bring you in.

My name, as you already know, is Orbital. I’m...different than the other Councilors. Unique. I don’t belong to any existing faction currently on Cybertron. I am a renegade from another time. A time where Cybertron is practically a dead world. A being with immense power has done many would love to do. Myself and several others are the only survivors in that future that fight against him. Everyone else either turned on the planet, and joined the despot, or died.

Alex stared at Orbital in awe. If that’s the case...you can stop that creature from taking over, can’t you? That is why you came back, right?

Orbital half smiled at this. Yes. That’s why I came back. But, when I came back, I wound up in the company of one of the Senators. Once he found out who I was, and where I came from...I was taken against my will, and half of my memory was blocked. Now, I can only remember bits and pieces. I can’t remember which Senator found me upon my arrival. I can’t remember who it is that will destroy Cybertron. I can’t even remember why it happens. Or when. What disturbs me is the fact that I have yet to find myself, the me that should be living now, in this past. Perceptor and I have been trying to figure that out for quite some time. He’s been helping me get my memory back. It’s worked to a certain degree. My scientific capabilities are now fully restored. You’ll probably find several of my gadgets laying around the Council building.

Orbital looked pained for a minute. Alex, respectfully, stayed silent until Orbital resumed his speech. The other Councilors. I suppose you are first worried about getting to know your fellow Councilors. Perceptor is...well, the Council has no officially appointed leader, no official Head of the Council. But the rest of us just kind of look up to him. We see him as our leader, and we follow his orders. You may recognize him, or at least his name.

A nod from Alex assured Orbital he did. I recognize the name from history files, if I’m not mistaken.

Ah, so you know history?

Well, not really. Since I’ve been on-world, I’ve been trying to catch up.
