I've had that cable thing happen many a time, it's no biggie. Though it does scare the shit outta you!

One time I was installing a new Motherboard and CPU and everything went great, just as it did for you, everything installed into it's proper place and I was happy for an hour or two, playing around in windows and checking out how it ran. Not too long after getting it going, it started slowing down tremendously, and started a long series of crash after crash after crash. I verbally abused my software, thinking that was the problem. After an hour or so of these problems, I finally fingured out the problem was about a simple, but destructive, as it could be; a wire had been misplaced and was lodged in my CPU fan. AIIAAAIIIEE!!! I screamed, ripping the cord out and turning the computer off, running to find every fan I possible could in the house. To this day that motherboard no longer possess the ability to use 5 1/4" drives or PCI modems.

we live, we learn.

:)
