Don't think she will have as many contestants as in NOV. Alot of parents/kids were unhappy at NES in November. We are trying to be optimistic & are 95% sure of going to Sweetheart in March. My daughter is competing in 7-8 group(she just turned 7)I wonder if that competetion will be as tough as 5/6 was?

March is usually smaller then November and we are going too we didn't hear about unhappy parents of course there are always a couple. I think it will be big like always and fun and fair

A parent well several, I overheard during awards & after that the contest was rigged. Scores were erased. She(Tammy) picked her favorites. And she didnt want an ethnic winning group. Whatever, probably just all rumors. We had fun. & it didnt look like our scores were erased/changed.

Oh please, look at the director's name and husband/son they are ethnic. You can see hostory of winners by going to the main site and clicking on the NES Royalty tab. The pageant is fair and the winners are whoever does the best regardless of their name or race

being it is a regional pageant, there will probably be a mix of kids there. Both experienced and new. I am sure it will be alot of fun. Wish we were going but too far for us to travel. Good luck to all that are going.

And if you devide 50 into the AMOUNT OF MONEY SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO GIVE AND THEN MULTIPLY IT BY 20 WHICH IS HOW MANY CONTESTANTS SHE HAD I AM SURE YOU GOT THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF MONEY. I don't know this woman director or her pag. system but seems to me she charges an awful lot and how much did the winners receive in return? I know she bashed my child and others on the Bravo board and called us names and cussed us for winning Fab Faces! That much I do know and yes it was her along with a photo contest owner. So I don't think too highly of this director. I still don't know why people like her bash and cuss us when she had absolutely nothing to do with Faces. She must have a screw loose. And for the prizes to be in the ballroom and she let her neices etc. tote them to the car or wherever? OMG I think she wouldn't have left without giving my child what she won if it was there!! Why did you let her do that to ya'll?

There are plenty of pageants out there that do not prorate. TDS, Dream Angles and Dream Dolls are just a few. If the prorating bothers you then find the pageants that dont do it. Read the paperwork carefully before you enter and also wait until the last minute and ask specifically what you are getting before you go. You have to be cautious these days because with so many people being pageant directors you never know what to expect.

and then there are some that dont. But, I do think that the directors should be more upfront about what you can expect to win. It should say $500 bond if 50 competing in the whole pageant, or the bond will be prorated X amount of dollars per X contestants.

I have been at Dream Angels twice (didnt win) but when I was not there my friends were and yes they ALWAYS prorated even when they were only 1 child short of having enough one time and once they did have enough but said they didn't have enough money. Even though they have the numbers needed, or no matter how close to what they need, they prorate to less then half the amount promised. I will never do this pageant again and neither will any of my friends. We have all been burned by them too many times.

I would say most of them will be at GG that are not crowning and in all 3 levels. The largest levels are 2 and 3. Very few in level 1.

Has anyone watched the tape of talent in the 6-10 age group from AGG nationals? -- Anonymous, 00:09:31 12/24/02 Tue

I watched the pageant but didn't order a tape and my child didn't compete at this one but will be beginning talent soon and I wondered if someone could break down this group and tell me who was strong and in what areas and vice versa. Also need to know some tips on what judges seem to go for, style, type of song, etc. Thanks.

I have not watched the tape but I have seen talent at other pageants and it seems to me that whether or not you can sing has little to do with it. As long as you don't sound horrible and you can entertain, you can win. Most of the scoresheets dont have a place to score vocal ability and most directors will tell you that the person who sings best wont always win, but the entertainer will. Then again I have seen some horrible singers with little entertainment value beat some great singers with average entertainment value so who knows really.

WHAT A JOKE............... This pageant had to be the worst Pageant I have ever seen. I was just watching had no child of my own in it,I was there with a friend,I would of been embarresed to have anyone know that I had done a pageant where the director had to go the morning of the pageant and find judges,non qualified judges...... Change her supreme groups for no aparent reasons. The winners I congratulate even though they weren't judged by professionals.I'm not sure but I know she didn't pay all the money that was advertised in her paper work. People were going around trying to find decorations for her ball room,No Stage. Why this pageant ever happened beats me,I am so glad that my children was not associated with this system,I think if we were and we had of won I would consider giving back my title. I don't think I would want to brag about winning a pageant like this one. With non-qualified judges who knows how it may of turned out with qualified judges,some of the winners I did not agree with but what do you expect from those judges. Anyone who did not do this pageant consider yourself smart and lucky.

Well I hate to Disappoint you but you are mistaken...WE PAID FULL PRICE!!!! AND I DID READ THE PAPERWORK...EVEN AFTER THE PAGEANT... I HAVE A COPY RIGHT HERE, I'm sorry this Director Lost her but with this Pageant, but that's the chance you take, she has no control over who comes and who doesn't, should have considered resceduling when she saw numbers were so low. There were about 3 or 4 Christmas Wear winners that did NOT get there porcelin dolls in the wooden cabinets, and lets see...NONE of the Beauty winners received their Designer rolling suitcases...these were seen taken out of the ballroom by her nieces and nephews....and no explanation why these weren't given.

I did buy a door badge,Maybe she wouldn't of lost her but if she hadn't let people enter free on referrals knowing her numbers were low.or she could of re-scheduled. You are making excuses for this pageant system when there are no reasons to run a pageant the way this one was run. Maybe your daughter won and if she did that is great congrats on your win,I dont think I would want my daughters to brag about a pageant that the judges were cousins of the directors,not very qualified wouldn't you say.But of course some of the winners only do these kind of pageants because they know they will walk in and win no problem. My daughter was crowning the year that one brown haired lady judged I think it was the 2nd year she had it because my daughter won the 1st year she had it.

Hmmm, I was curious about this also because we have been there three years in a row and honestly did not know that any one judge had been there three times in a row. So, being the curious person I am, I just called up the director to ask her. She did say that the long brown haired judge had judged her national for the last three years and would probably be there for next three because she is her Head Judge; however, the other judges will change from year to year. I also found out these few tid-bits of information that I thought I would share. One of the judges this year had judged nationals before but it has been 4 years and then the other 2 had never judged nationals before. I did express some concern over the one judge judging year after year, but after she explained that the lowest score was always dropped in every event, really what does matter if only one judge is the same? She cannot hurt you all by herself because if she is the low scorer, her score will be dropped. I do hope this helps clear some of this up. My daugher was lucky enough to bring home one of those incredible titles, one of those killer new crowns (that are NOT smaller just different, LOL) and the best part of all that awesome stocking!!! I would hate for this system and the director to be drug through the mud over things that are simply misunderstood. Be glad that she does not get circuit judges that do know all the name chilren, be glad she does try to get judges that know enough about pageants but not the names, be glad that she still has one of the few pageants that can be trusted. Mine is already talking about returning to crown, please don't tarnish her win, she sure worked hard for it! Sure there were things that I did not agree with, but honestly overall the pageant was right on. Try to see the whole picture. And before I am bashed, I'm sorry for wrighting a book, lol.

I am not sure where you have gotten your information, but to be honest with you we have competed at the West Virginia state pageant and at the Virginia State pageant. The long brown headed judge did judge both of those. But again, she is the Head Judge and will be judging quite often. By the way, that judge did not give us the same scores either time, she did judge it like she saw it, just like she did at Nationals. Sometimes we get scored high by her, sometimes not. I guess it really it all depends on my child and what kind of day she is having and what her competition I like.

What group did you watch? I just watched the 9-10 and WOW is all I can say. So many beautiful girls. My daughter didn't win but she placed in a real good spot in such a hard group. Those judges did a great job and a hard one at that. I thought she was awesome in SW but after watching the tape I saw that her footwork was not what it usually is, I guess we have some bad new shoes.lol She looked beautiful, she did a great job and I am proud of her. You are right about the tape, it helps a lot.

You know this is very easy to settle. All the mother - who says her child lost because of the hair - has to do is call up or e-mail the director and she will tell everyone's score in that group. You can see by that if the only place she was cut was her hair.

It is supposed to be about the girls, but it is not. It is all about who kisses the most guru butt and that is who will win them all if they are not a fair and honest system. Sometimes the system is honest but the judges are cheaters.

That I can understand, judges being cheaters. But my daughter practices all the time, even her teachers are so impressed that they ask to see a "dior" spin. Therefore since she recently won a Supreme title, she really deserved it. The girl just overflows with an aurora of stage presence that the judges respond to that. Meaning she really enjoys it. Some kids look unhappy on stage and dont do as well, even if they practice alot. Maybe cuz parents push them into it, I dont know & dont care. I really hope we dont run into judges where it is based on favoritism. Until that happens, I wish my kid the best of luck. She is really excited. She might have tough competetion against CE or SF or MG, if they go to this.

My guesses for NB/ACR GS are any of these if they are all going YO, SG or FD. They all did incredible at NES. I heard through the grapevine there was going to be a big group of babies too who go all out and that might be a really tough group but its pretty tough for a baby to take GS. Heard there are lots of boys. I think its going to be good and lots of toys and gifts given away so my kid will be pretty happy no matter how she places. Anybody know how many are going? 25? 30? more? less?

That really wasn't very nice. Those girls worked hard. Yes there was probably many hispanic winners because there were many competing. It was a very small pageant and when a large percent are from one group, the odds are you'll have a lot of winners from that group. Same would be true if there were a lot of blonde blue eyed competitors. The pageant had mostly all local competitors and they have worked hard, let them enjoy their win

They can enjoy it all they want. I hope they get blown away at Nationals by alot of "American" girl-type winners!!It would be nice for a change. Dont forget, blonde-haired, red-haired & white skinned girls also work VERY HARD on the routines, not just spanish girls!!!!And the funny thing is.......they stick with their own kind & are not even happy or cheer for a "white" girl win she wins. IMO, the attitude sucks & this is why I feel it was rigged. They have very poor, lets say, "SPORTMANSHIP"!!This is quite sad.........Watch next time & I bet you'll agree!

Really, you think scores were changed? WEll, my daughter won a Supreme title & I have the original scores. My daughter has brownish/blonde(More toward brown) hair & blue eyes. But the best thing is my kid rocked that weekend. She practiced for 2 hours a day straight! Therefore, she really deserved it. But if you look at Banner for NES in March, it features Lillianette who is Ethnic, and might I point out a very nice person. My daughter thinks she is beautiful. So, hopefully the director didnt "rig" the scoresheet & would be thinking that way(no ethnics). Which I find hard to believe, since The directors last name sounds ethnic anyways. I think it is all on how the kid does on stage. There were blonde kids with fake teeth that my kid was up against & I was getting worried that maybe I should've gotten her fake teeth! But see, none of that really matters, I think it is just what the judges, at the time, like & how great the kid does.

NES is as fair as they come and the winners that won at the last pageant are the winners that the judges chose regardless of their race, hair color, etc. The same is true with the winners at Northern Belle, the winners were who the judges choose regardless of their race, hair color or eye color.

I am hispanic, and I was affended by some comments! First off, I have many hispanics friends that compete in pageants, and we all cheer very much for all the girls, no matter what race! Don't know how old but LY wins alot. And I think HF. Wait, most of the ones I know of that were winning so much last year, I have not seen their names in a while so I am not sure if they are still competing or just not winning. I am not sure really who is in that age that wins alot now days.
Most of your consistent winners are in the 0-4 groups and I mean it is the same 4 kids over and over everywhere they go.CF,CC,IP,OL.

This head judge year after year thing is a big fat sham and is the dumbest thing I ever heard of. This is so far fetched and so unheard of that the only thing I can figure is that it is a nice way to cheat. I don't know of any pageant that has a head judge that judges every year. Even the biggest cheaters of all have not thought up this lousey excuse yet.

Like the other person said if she judges year after year it will be the same kids over and over and she will remember kids and compare them not just to each other but to themselves. Why is it that some other pageants get BLASTED for weeks on end about how expensive they are but nobody ever saying nothing about AGG. They are more expensive than FAB FACES which I did not go to because it was expensive! I mean the supreme package at AGG does not even cover the Photo/Beauty Supremes! It does not cover even Novice or Novice supreme! It only cover Grand, mini, and pro/beauty. AND IT IS almost $500 right there! I didn't see where the crowns were all that either. So tell me why are they not blasted for the expense of this pageant? Makes me curious about the director!

The director gets her freinds to judge that she can tell who to pick.She also uses people who have judged for her all year,every year that hear her talking about the kids all year and KNOW who she wants to win,whether she knows it or not.I have been to this pageant every year since it started sometimes in it,sometimes watching but it seems to be the same old crap every year.What about good pretty girls that work there butt off and deserve to win a title? I have seen some really bad things happen at this one.She waits on some, and wont wait on others.She has held up the pageant up to 15 minutes for 1 contestent and then wont wait on another.and she is rude and hatfull.

Well there were quite a few novice kids but only a few big name ones. There were alot of big name pro kids that didn't win either, but then again everyone can't win. If she is going to have that many kids then there needs to be more titles. Every year directors charge more and more and give less and less.

first of all when people complain about the names winning they are usually not even talking about the novice winners. the gurus dont care so much about the novice wins they want the big titles and that is what they are gave. if novice was a title the gurus cared about you can bet your no name kid would not have won it. now if your no name kid won grand then we could talk. now back to what we were saying.

Can you just not comprehend the fact that the competition at this pageant was out of this world. Yes, the 5-10 novice supreme was beautiful and awesome on stage but my goodness so was almost everyone else. Again this is why any title was deserved!!!!!

Ya know I've not got to check the boards out very much this week because we've been very busy getting ready for AGG. Know why we've been so busy getting ready? Because we've been there before and like most everyone else whose been there, we know the competition will be incredible, we know most groups will have a minimum of 10, we know the best of the best will win. But we also know the best of the best will win simply because they are the best not because of a name, we know all this because we've been there many times and my child refuses to miss it. Miss Sheila has never tried to deny the fact that her pageant is major glitz and that it usually turns out huge. You're right, this year will probably be no different, so what is the problem? Sometimes it is not quanity but quality and I can tell you from personal experience this pageant was stocked full of quanity! If you won anything at all be proud!!! You can rest assured there were many there that didn't that would have loved to have anything.

I agree something must be done about the judges for all pageants but they are so hard to get to begin with that it is even harder to get good ones that are not total idiots and that don't know anyone. It is neat how some pageants have judges that are people pulled off the street and trained what to look for but is that really any better? I just don't know. In a way it is better to have judges that at least know pageants and what is good and what is not but then they might know people or have grudges so that is not the best way to go either. Does anyone have any ideas?

We have been wanting to try this pageant for quite some time. Unfortunalty money did not permit us to compete this year but luckily we were able to go with a friend who did compete (my friends daughter did not win but is already looking forward to going back with us next year). We got to sit back and enjoy the awesome competition this time. The pageant was very organized, the prizes (toys) were nice, the crowns were stunning (although I did hear some mothers comment that they were not as big as last years), and the stockings were a huge hit (anyone know where she gets them? My child would love one) I am clueless as to what the above means about some of the winners but in MHO, all the winners were very deserving. Sure in some groups placements could have been switched but couldn't they always? I for one cannot wait to give it a try next year. But I too am curious as to the judges comments, does she really get the same judges again and again? The director just seems so together and honest that I cannot imagine her doing this. It really won't change my mind though because like I said the winners were great so evidently the judges did their job.

Hi there! We've been there three years in a row competing. You will not regret competing even if you do not take home the title. It really is a first class show and my child loves this pageant. It's already been addressed, but NO she does not get the same judges year after year. Only one judge will remain the same and that is simply because she is the head judge and she knows what the pageant is looking for. She does not know one childs name from another because she is not a circuit judge. So the names will only win if they deserve to win. If you look at the winners list you will see that some names won, some names did not.

There is at least 15 in every group.some have more some have less.from talking to friends that are competeing the 3 to 10 is packed with 7 to 8 being the biggest.Some people who have not competed in a while are making a come back at this one,and some that have showed up here and there will be there to.along with the regulars and the ones that were on a break.This one will be big and good to watch. This pageant was nothing but a big mess. There was only 22 in the pageant and one of the kids that beat good kids picked her nose on stage. She got people to enter alot of extra door entries and told them she would split the money with the winners and double crown them, but she didnt give any money at all. Kids were pulled from the age group which paid a little money, to win overall titles that paid none because of prorating. You tell me how this is fair. Some of the winners came from out of no where.

some of the winners that the director PICKS will be some moms he wants for directors. All their winners are strategized to help them in some way. The big names they owe favors to or the names they want to support them will win. The newer ones, whose moms have sucked up and said they would be directors in other states will also win. That is an easy transparent pageant to figure the winners because it is all to help the directors who judge their own pageant. rotflmao....what a waste of good money.

from the time they started, they wanted to be a CM or Sunburst b/c they saw all the big bucks Ruth and Chuck were making. They got those crazy directors from several states who are the WANNABE groupies of the pageant world. They sweet talked them into fooling newbies and I say they have fooled some. Hopefully, there are not 200 of them. My best info on the numbers is about 70 to 80, MAYBE. Times are hard and I am hoping the newbies read about this system on the boards before they wasted their money and supported such a rotten (imo) system.

I bet they do have 200. They ran it just like Cover Miss this year with all those state directors. I know of people who went who have no business being there and they are about to find out with their pocketbooks what all the talk on the boards is about.

Think about it people, their are only maybe 50 big names in the whole pag industry if that, throw in some free entries, newbies, and the lol, novice which I always laughed at and you probably have at best almost 100 or maybe close to 75. Its the same kids, and I have to laugh because even winning you have paid for the crown and trophy by the time you add everything up and then monday we will here congrats to little susie because she was the awsome proam winner and then some mom will get on here and say it was fixed, well duh, lol, welcome to the pageant world people don't take everything so seriously its just a pageant, just a pageant you say I spent 1000.00 on entries alone, lol. Wow thats alot of mcdonalds for some of you, lol.

If they will LIE about numbers, they will LIE about anything. They just gotta try to get attention by misleading. That is the way they mislead the newbies about their systems. This is NOT good publicity for pageants and I hope people are seeing that. If you want to be big and you are not, the last thing to do is LIE. But then again, it shows you what they are.

pageants reserve blocks of numbers for age groups. Just because somebody is number 505 doesn't mean that she is the 505th contestant. I'm sure its big but its not THAT big. We were going to go but decided to do a different pageant later this month. One a month is pretty much our rule.

My 5 year old talked to a 7 year old that was at MDD and she was number 505. Goodness that must mean they are HUGGGGEE. My aunt who si twice removed from my cousin said their numbers were so big they couldn't get them all in the door. GEE, we must believe this, right.

Every year they get one of their disciples to put up that they have about l00 more than the actuallly have. Same trick every year. Now this is done to try to impress people and is part of their persona. They have egos that have to be inflated. However, the numbers that are there are the small town little people who don't have a chance of a snowball in he&& and they don't understand that this will still be judged by the director on experience, and yes, the package and how they want the winners to go. Every year same old, same old. That is the reason they have so many newbies, people who have found them out would not touch that pageant with a ten foot pole and pay that over $1000 fee.

I think that people who go out there and say that are just saying it because the have no other excuse of why there child lost. For those of you who will listen....
I had posted on the boards several weeks ago needing help contacting Toni Overby about a deposit I had for pictures that were NEVER taken. My little girl has spinda bifida and needed critical test done in the hospital the days of the shoot, i IMMEDIATELY told the coordinator about this and had someone to fill my slot and still wasn't given my deposit back. Then during the shoot I heard word that Toni was giving a lady that lived 30 minutes away form me the deposit back, and she would get it to me. It never happened. I called Toni several times and left messages to have her call me or send my money back and have not heard form her still! Now i KNOW WHY! She cashed the check! I called my bank and they said it was already cash, How in the world could she have the heart to TAKE money form me! I NEVER in the world expected this of her, especially since I had tried to fill my slots WEEKS before the shoot and was told no. I am outraged about all of this! Toni Overby has basically stole 125.00 dollars from us! We sent the deposit for pictures and never had them! I f I were going to GIVE my money away, I would have given it to a charity not to line Tonis wallet! I am still in shock that Toni would do something this low. We had shot with her before and I was hoping after she would send our deposit back that we could shoot again, but after she stole this money from us, there is no way I would do business with her again or recommend her to anyone! The sad thing is I recommended a good friend of mine to her because I wanted her to have great PICS and then she does this to me. I guess she is only in it for the money and truly cares nothing about the children or anyone else!

Well you are lucky you only had to pay $125 for a deposit. It is usually $250. And usually with anyone, if you are not able to attend, you lose your deposit, same with pageants. Sometimes pageants let you use it at another pageant, sometimes photographers let you use it at another shoot, but I was always in fear because I have always been told not just by THO but by many, that your deposit is lost should you not go. I feel like any emergency that comes up, especially medical, should be considered and the full money refunded. But this is typical of these money hungry two faced frauds and does not suprise me at all, especially from this one who is known for her actions and attitude.

I have read this ladies original post and she had several people willing to take her spot and the coordinator for Toni said no. Now what is up with that? IMHO there is no way Toni should keep this ladies money when she had many people willing to take the spot, therefore, Toni would have lost no money. Come on, if Toni doesn't refund this ladies money she is certain to lose a lot more respect than she already has.

To the people bashing PR, have you ever seen her in person? I saw her for the first time at Glamour Dolls and I could not get over how beautiful she is. I can say that she has one of the best faces in pageants. I loved her hair, her dress, she is awesome. For those of you that have never seen her in person, her photos on the net don't do her justice, even though they are beautiful, they don't compare. I think she just may take that grand at AFF for the simple fact that this is a facial pageant and she has a fabulous face. For those of you hoping to ruin it for her by your accusations....shame on you. I can only name about 2 other kids in this age group that would even be any competition for her at all and I know that 1 isn't going. I hope she does win the grand.

I have no idea who is posting negative things about PR, but I too saw her for the first time at GD. Here is MHO. I had seen her pics before and to be honest with you I was not really impressed. I mean, they were okay and would not kill her in pageants, but I didnt' see the big WOW. But when I saw her in person, I took a double take. She doesn't really look like her pics at all, which is the case with most pics/children. However, most chilren are prettier in their pics. NOT the case with PR, her pics do her no justice at all. She is breathtaking in person, simply gorgeous and oh soooooo sweet. She had never meet my child nor I before and her mom and her were super nice.

Maybe the person being so mean is the one with the problem, but come on, the person talking badly about that person's child is not solving anything.

I didn't get to see much but here goes....OL is a total doll, really stood out. CC is cute as can be, lots of cuties in these age groups especially CD. AM was gorgeous and was on. SJ was beautiful. SB rocked. AP was gorgeous. CA was very pretty, very elegant. HF rocked. LKP was beautiful as always, very elegant. L? is a very beautiful girl. There were a few more, and in the babies but I don't know their names. Lots of beautiful faces at this one.

There were a few winners listed on Bravo. I heard they pro-rated after all and that they said last week they had 60 deposits in hand. Then someone said that they said at registration that they had enough and were not going to pro-rate.

I will tell you how it went. The judges wrote on everyone's scoresheets to be ready next time, to get ready on time, to be on time, etc. What is funny is everyone I saw with this comment was not late. When the directors were asked they said they didnt know why the judges wrote it and knew that no one was late. Half the kids that had this written on their scoresheets were standing in lineup waiting while the group before them was on stage. Not one person I know was late but still had this comment from every judge.

They wrote that on my daughters scores too. And she wasnt late either. And they talked the whole time while children were on stage. Nodding and pointing, and sitting there having a conversation about them. Very unprofessional. They wrote ridiculous comments too that made no sense. I was not impressed and will not be back.

I agree that the price was waaaaay too high. They did give a grand in each age group and that was good, but the judges were fruitloops and there were too many good kids that got kicked in the face by them. Some of the winners were good, but there were some others that deserved to get something, anything, but instead got robbed. It was almost like the directors had a grudge to contend with it was so bad. A few kids that got cheated were so obviously cheated, I wonder what kind of bone the directors had with them.lol Or the judges were the revenge seekers?????

You know, all of us that are not able to do for ourselves and are forced to use vendors to compete, are at their mercy. If your clothes are not made to fit correctly, or are not finished on time, then you are sunk. If your hair or makeup isn't good, then you are sunk. It sucks that all your hard earned money spent on these goods and services, and on the entry fees and all the other things required to compete, can be flushed down the toilet in an instant if someone else screws up. It is not fair that your child will be punished by the judges if something someone else does is not perfect. I guess you either have to learn to do it yourself, or make sure you have dependable, honest, trustworthy vendors. Anyone know where I might find some??? Are there any?

You also are totally dependent on your photographer, your coach, the judges, the directors, and anyone else you may use for anything. And the answer is NO, there are no honest, trustworthy and dependable vendors. If you are lucky enough to find one who is, you are very lucky. But good luck finding vendors for all your needs that won't let you down. I suggest doing it all yourself, and having your own pageant and judging it yourself too.lol
