Subject: Re: does anyone else get tired of big winners begging for referrals? pay for the pageant like the rest of us. you seem to have won enough money to do to that? should others pay for the ones who are not just starting out so they can take their prize money and buy even better stuff than YOU have because you are using them as a referral? whatsup with that? giving referrals is giving someone else an advantage. i have no problem with giving referrals to those just starting out but those who are taking grands and winning the money? i don't think so. don't mean to pick on AM here there are others too.

Hi, thank you for saying that you are not picking on AM. She has won recently, but no where near the amount of money to keep things going. As a matter of fact 4 of the 5 pageants she won NO money. At AMBG State beauty winners did not get cash. At UB, Andi's scores were messed up, te directors fixed it but another child had already been crowned and given the cash, so instead of cash, we got credit for their next pageant. At Royal Elegance, she won free entry to state, so again no cash. She did win good money at Priceless Moments which helped, lol. Then she just won APM, but there was not enough in her group to pay. I am not fussing about not winning money at these other pageants, we knew going into it that we may not, we were just happy to win, lolol. I'm sorry that you feel that we should not ask for referrals, but how does that give us an advantage? I mean it does help us go the pageant which is what my child loves, but it sure doesn't help me buy other things, lolol. If we don't get referrals, credit from another pageant, photo contests, or guestbook wins, then we just don't go. Again, I do thank all the people that have helped us with referrals. Andi loves pageants or we wouldn't be going so your help is and always will be appreciated. Thanks for letting me have my say. Happy pageanting. :0)

  • Not a bash but I have to agree. I've had another mom approach me AT the table and try to get me to give her the referral. Sorry but she didn't refer me. I agree that if you don't have to pay and I do then you have more money for newer clothes and all of that. So why would I give you what ends up being hundreds of dollars to compete against us with? Just think about it like the other lady said. Try to see our point. There are some other moms who are even worse. Always worrying their friends for referral credit and then when it comes time for new clothes, who has the money? The one who paid for their pageants or the other? I think what bothers some of us is that these moms don't bring in new kids to pageantry, they just work those referral numbers! Some really run off their friends with it.
