You say you were already married at 17, and that your husband was in Germany; wow, that is young! I had only just had my first kiss by that sort of time! Would you mind sharing how that came about - was your husband a schoolfriend? And you lived in a State where marriage was allowed at that age, was that quite unusual at that time?

DJ, My husband was someone I wanted to engage in sexual intercourse with; as a christian I had to be married first. I married in my state and it wasn't unusual at the time, to be married before having sex............

You said that you felt embarrassed - would you like to tell me a bit more about that? what were you embarrassed about?

DJ< It was a feeling of embarrassment. I don't know why I felt embarrassed...........

Backtracking a bit, you said that you prayed the prayer with them because you had not done so before - what happened when you prayed at 9 then, did you pray on your own or with someone, and what did you pray?

DJ< I was nine when I prayed and ask jesus into my heart. I don't remember the prayer, but I do remember being baptised, it happened in a pond...........

I can understand what you say about believing in God from an early age; I did too. I remember being conscious of Him, or rather something being around, right from when I was young. But personally I would not say I was a Christian then because it was just belief in God, and not any commitment.

DJ< I don't know if I was a christian then either. God didn't seem to care though. If it's a commitment god needs, then he sure isn't very secure, is he?.........

When you say you didnt realise you had a brain till you were about 38 - what happened at about that time to make you realise it?

DJ> I took college courses and made the deans honor roll, I was very surprised to be shown that I was not a complete dummy. Like I said, I came up around christians and their church and members. We were taught that we were miserable sinners with no hope apart from JC...........

You mentioned your mother being smothering; I can relate to that though obviously we had totally different experiences. My mother was herself an insecure lady and for her own reasons wanted to control me emotionally, and actually in most ways. As a child and young person, my spirit was being slowly crushed, even though mum was doing what she thought best.

DJ< I wasn't crushed, I was smothered.

Did you have a father?
