I suppose in a way it was sexist, Gilly. The problem is not with me, but the kind of countries I worked in. The Middle East and North Africa would not have Electronic Engineeresses because the locations were not conducive to mixed sex camps. Even in Bolivia, there were no women on site, but there were a few tarts in the neighbouring villages quite willing to service the workers. Not that I ever partook, of course. Perish the thought!
The Client, Petrobras of Brazil, put us up in their camp, but us Brits would not accept that they wanted us to share a room. We moved out into a nearby village, where there was a hotel, a restaurant, and we could have a beer after finishing work. (It was banned in the camp).Cost $5 a night, and was just magic in the middle of the Jungle. I think I posted a photo of Big Teeta a few years ago. She owned the hotel. Ask your mate Wee Bryan about her!!!!!!!!!!!!! Used to come banging on the door at 2 in the morning offering "room service".
