In chronological order, as best I can remember. Most of these holidays were in rented static caravans.

Portobello (the first time I saw the sea)

Anstruther

Methil

Rothesay

Arbroath

Monifieth

Stranraer

Wemyss Bay

Gourock

The last one is particularly important. It was my auntie's caravan and when I got married, aged twenty, we went back to it for our honeymoon. You know you've become a man when you throw back the curtains late in the morning and see a Polaris submarine sailing up the Clyde in your honour.
