Let me see:
Sales outside french territories (that includes among others the rest of Europe, Japan, Indonesia, USA/Canada):
Snow on the Sahara / Au nom de la lune: 300000 - 400000
Chrysalis / Désirs contraires: 200000 - 300000

Information gathered from the net:
Chrysalis:
Italy: Gold, on the way to platinum (=100000)
Indonesia: 4 x platinum (=300000)

Snow on the Sahara:
Indonesia: 3 x platinum (=225000)
Italy: 2 x platinum (=200000)
France: Gold (=100000)
Malaysia: 20000
Worldwide: over 1 000000 !!!!!!!! ?????????

As everybody can see, there is something wrong with these numbers.
I believe the figures from the French Music site are accurate because they promote the whole french record industry, not only one artist. They are also published on other sites like www.disqeenfrance.com.
On the one hand that means that most of the sales quoted for promotional purposes are gross exaggerations (especially the 1 million sales worldwide) and on the other hand sales in the important markets USA(for Snow...), UK, Germany and Japan are obviously rather low.
Considering how many CDs non-US artists have to sell worldwide before they're given a chance on a major company in the US it is extremely unlikely that Chrysalis will ever get a proper US release.
Or did I make a mistake with my observations?
What do you guys think?

hernm i get confused with numbers, it dont matter to me how many album she sells, as long as its great music i'll buy her album.but obviously i can say that anggun is not selling well enough to convince sony music to invest more on her success.maybe she should spread her target listener to teenagers age 12-25 and 25-29, since we know that teens buy alot more records than adult.am i rite?brennan

I think you're right, I doubt she has really sold 1 million albums worldwide, if you compute all numbers. They (at Sony Music) are being fuzzy on purpose. There's surely a chance to know for sure. Actually, I read on disqueenfrance (I think) that Chrysalis did sell allright (NT)Ayla_fr
