Dudo is here, tho' not really chatty.
She's been kinda slow, and her brain's a bit scatty!

Don't know if it's age, or Summer, or illness,
but she is looking for rest, and a time just of stillness.


Not much news to report, at least it's not boiling-
we've had some hot days, with red dust clouds roiling

There've been lots of guests, to swim and to burn-
then houses to clean, I'll never learn.


My mum's got a cold, with earache and pain,
It's at times such as this, we wish for a rain-

to wash away "bugs", and freshen the air,
to water the plants and put curls in my hair!

The land's looking weary, most grass has now gone,
and the red rocks and earth look tired and worn.

I'll finish this now, and send some more soon
Gotta go and get hamlet, he's being a hoon!

Yes, rain would be good, in fact bloody beaut
It's heartening to see every blade amd each shoot

All things springing up in the greeness of birth..
Creeks swelling with each splash of rain..
Frogs all bawling in chorus again
But then there's the point when it all becomes mud..
And everyone yells.. 'Oh, Lord.. it's a flood!"

Good to hear from you, and hope you and your Mum are both better soon. Also hope you get some rain. We've had a bit over the last couple of days, and it's so nice listening to it on the tin roof, although a couple of times I've been wondering whether we were safe the lightning was so close (less than half a second between lightning and thunder). China, who barks back at the thunder and tries to catch the rain, has been having a ball.
