Subject: No, the real issue is that the makeup artists that do photos are so talented that they glam the girls to look one way for headshots, and then is those girls don’t hire that same artist for the pageant, other artists can’t always replicate it. Moral of the story- splurge and book the one that did you for the headshots. Subject Author Date Len does great stage photos & he does well with professional headshots for business purposes as well. Most of the photographers that do great pageant headshots have a team of H&M or they are also the H&M so they have a well oiled machine. I know Len did lots of pageant headshots years ago and they just weren’t the glitz and glam you see now.. they were professional could have been used for business cards and they very much looked like the person in real life. I don’t know him on a personal level but I agree he doesn’t care what anyone on this voy board says … he is well established and you aren’t gonna hurt his business. He sticks to what he does best and his customer service the two times we’ve bought stage photos from him has been quick and reliable. Some of y’all are just haters. Photography is not an easy skill and it takes years of trial and error. We will continue to go out of state for headshots but will definitely purchase Len Long stage shots. It is very technical. Unfortunately a lot of the people listed here know how to do one thing; they're not photographers, they're semi-trained monkeys pushing a button. You better hope nothing goes wrong during your photoshoot with people who have only been photographing for a year or two. They don't have the technical knowledge to fixsomething should it go wrong. I'm pretty sure Ashley was told by that photographer she did hair and makeup for how to set up her camera and whatever lights she has for headshots and that's what she does. Same thing they do for mall Santas. That's hardly photography. Ask her if she knows lighting patterns and which one she uses. Ask her if she knows how to use light to create shadows and highlights. Ask her if she uses rim lighting or if she wraps her lighting. I guarantee you she wono't have a clue. And it takes more technical skill to photograph action than it does to have someone tell you how to set up a "studio" and then just push a button. You are ridiculous.
