Well as we search once again next Saturday for a home victory, we have now exhausted all the local pubs for a pre match pint, and still we are without a win. So next Saturday we must go further afield. The Dolphin is my suggestion, meeting there at opening time, 11.00. (Remember, midday kick off!) We'll have to go there anyway as the pubs near the ground aren't opening until after midday.

I have come out with two alternatives on the replacement message board front.

The message boards can be found from the following addresses:

Choice 1:
http://ub2.homepagetools.com/barnstaplegulls/UltraBoard.pl?

Choice 2:
http://www.aimoo.com/forum/freeboard.cfm?id=331856

The first is a free board (for the moment anyway - although this may change in the near future), however it does not have many of the options which the second board has (i.e. ability to create polls, send private messages to other members, have pictures placed beside of your username etc) nor is it as quick. However the second board costs £10 per 6 months (or 15 US dollars to be precise).

Nevertheless, both a great boards. Can you let me know which one you want to go for!

Cheers.

I notice that York are going to resign from the football league if they don't get a buyer before the end of the season.

Any chance we can put together a bid, and then pull out on the last day of the season. It will probably have a better chance of success than Torquay winning away to Swansea.

(Or am I just too pessimistic?)

Undeterred we ventured across the Scottish Border before returning to watch Blackburn v Derby, returning home at 9.25pm.

Not bad going really - although the ground wasn't that frozen and would have thawed quite nicely between the inspection and kick off.

Never mind ..... Roll on New Year's Eve!!!!!!!!!

No doubt it will be utter chaos as the staff and grounds people at our end han'nt got much of a reputation, so come early (I expect you're used to doing that!) and have a great day.I don't expect Mark to see much of the match as he will find the concrete awe inspiring! Just arrived back in the country after a wonderful stay in Madeira, hope you are all well.It may interest you to know that I will once again be leading the Torquay singing at home park. When I left the country I asked Ken to use my season ticket and get our boxing day seats but such was the demand he missed out , so not wishing to let me down he headed for plainmoor at 4 o,clock Sunday morning,he was first in the queue but was questioned and told no ticketrs to plymuff boys ,Ken replied but we are mates of the Barnstable Gulls and yes on this information he was given two tickets. So we are well chuffed to bewith you guys although totally gutted that we can,t be in are beloved Devonport end, we look forward to the occasion with interest and yes if its ok with the great Wozzer of Oz we will be in the Civil Service club . What time will you guys arrive ? Is the fantastic Claire coming ? How many players will torquay keep on the field? Will we hear Torquay fans sing? How will you handle the dissapointment this time? I'm an Oxford supporter who visits Barum a couple of times a year cos that's where the in laws live so while I can wish you luck for the rest of the season that does not apply to Saturday. I've never seen the slightest hint of a Torquay shirt in Barnstaple or even an Exeter one for that matter. Where do you Barnstaple Gulls hide away and do your drinking ? The Check Inn ?- West Brom supporting landlord. Reform Inn ? - Magnificent beer.

Would you believe it, another message board goes down! Again I think the company provided our much loved forum has gone belly up as well.

I'm currently looking into the possibility of hosting a forum on the same server as the rest of our website. That way we can be sure that this kind of thing doesn't happen again. In the meantime we will just have to make do with this one (sorry, I know its bad!). Note that this board can only be reached for the home page, I haven't had chance to change the other links yet.

I've started to look at new boards, I must that all the ones I've come across so far insist on users registering - how do you feel about that? On the plus side there are a load of new features which we didn't have on our old board, such as:

> ability to chat with people who are on the message board at the same time.

> ability to create voting polls, which are relevant to messages posted.

and lots more.

Please let me know what you think?

As we haven't seen many comments on this legendary debate recently, I would like to point out that Sheryl Crow is head and shoulders above both Kylie and Jacko on the musical front. Admittedly Kylie is sexier, but her music's and songwriting is nowhere as good, and as for Jacko, well he's just weird (and past it too judging by his drab new single.)

And if Paul Cool tries to come back with some argument that Kylie is better, all I need to tell you is that this is the man who PAID to go and see Steps in concert. I rest my case.

There aren't too many details on the site, but it looks like it starts directly after the fireworks, Roy Mac will be in one of the teams etc. I don't know how many are in a team though!
