Sulley has a gift tag that reads to boo from Kitty. Mickey is holding balloons his tag only reads Mickey with Balloons. It looks a lot like the stitch and pooh balloon ones released in the past. Eeyore is holding a toy horse and wearing a cowboy hat. His tag reads eeyore with toy. I think this one might go with the pooh holding the train I saw last week. Since last time i saw pooh with the train at the store I havent seen him again.

Last Tuesday due to high blood pressure and toxemia they did a C-section and Andrew Robert Nash was brought into the world. He was born 6 weeks early at 8:02pm Tuesday weighing 3lbs 12ounces We are both fine. Andrew due to his size will have to stay in the hospital a week or two. I have been told many times he is doing better than most premies. The nurses rave over him all the time because he acts like a big boy. Andrew had 100% on his lungs when he came out, which was a miracle in itself. Started nursing right away with vigor! The only problem we have is his size. He has to start to gain weight before they will let him leave. Then after he gains weight he will have to be able to heat himself and then again he has to gain weight while heating himself. He will be in there at least a week maybe two. He has no issues other than size at this point. Thanks everyone for your emails and prayers. Nancy

Also, the one just across the border in Washington state closed a yr or so ago, so there is now no Disney Store anywhere near this side of Canada. I have been forced to stop collecting. A Walt Disney Co. telemarketing center in Overland Park will close by February, eliminating about 250 jobs.

Disney Direct Marketing�s Onstage Teleservice operation, as it is known, takes orders for Disney�s catalog merchandise and reservations for Walt Disney World.

�Both of those businesses have had a fairly dramatic shift from calls to online � both for shoppers from our catalog and reservations to the theme park,� said Disney spokesman Gary Foster, explaining the decision to shut the operation.

The center, at 11200 W. 93rd St., employs about 200 part-time and seasonal hourly workers and 50 full-time workers and managers. Foster said some would be offered opportunities to work at other Disney call centers. The rest will receive severance packages, he said.

The center opened in 1990 with fewer than 100 employees. At first, it handled direct marketing for a variety of Disney products, including toys and clothing.

The operation is one of several call centers in the Kansas City area that have closed recently or are slated to be closed.

Last year, CitiMortgage closed its call center in Overland Park, eliminating 123 jobs. Pegasus Satellite Television, once a major seller of DirecTV services, shed 304 jobs when it shut its call center in Lenexa about the same time. And at least 150 of the 1,400 employees at AT&T�s Lee�s Summit call center have been laid off in the past year.

Foster denied rumors that Disney was outsourcing the Overland Park call center�s jobs to India.

�That is not correct,� he said. �It really is just because of the shift from calls to online.�

Hi there, I am new to collecting and especially collect mostly the eeyore mini bean bag beanies. There was a Disney Store in Bristol (UK) near where I live but it has now gone. Does anyone have any idea on how I can purchase the beanies from??? Does anyone on here live in the USA and would be able to act as a buyer for me??? Is there any reliable websites to purchase them from or any other websites with boards like this? I am a complete novice to this and have bought lots from e-bay but would love some help on how to add to my collection, thank you lots in advance for trying to help me

Gold announced today that they have agreed to put aside the differences that have characterized their relationship over the past several years. Messrs. Disney and Gold have agreed not to run a rival slate of directors or submit shareholder resolutions for the next five years. Messrs. Disney and Gold have also agreed to dismiss all their pending lawsuits against the Company. In reestablishing ties with him and his family, the Company has named Roy E. Disney Director Emeritus and a consultant. The Company also reaffirmed its commitment to the rotation of committee members and chairpersons on its Board committees as currently required by the Company's Corporate Governance Guidelines. I'm searching for a Lilo and Stitch item - it is a Stitch holding Scrump mini plush, attatched to a little chain that can be hooked onto keys, a rearview mirror, etc. Can anyone tell me where to find one? I've been looking on eBay and the only one I can find is for over $20. It's cute and I would love to have it, but I can't pay over $25 (including shipping) for something so small. Any ideas? Ventriloquist Paul Winchell, who was the voice of Tigger in Disney's Winnie the Pooh films, has died aged 82.
He was a popular children's TV host in the US, and first voiced Tigger in 1968 in Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, which won an Academy Award.

Winchell also voiced Gargamel in The Smurfs and Boomer in The Fox and the Hound, as well as voicing other Disney and Hanna-Barbera productions.

He was also an inventor, patenting an artificial heart in 1963.

His other patents included a disposable razor, a flameless cigarette lighter and an invisible garter belt.

Winchell last performed as Tigger in 1999, in Winnie the Pooh: Seasons of Giving.

Lisp and laugh

For Tigger, he created a slight lisp and laugh, crediting his British wife with Tigger's "TTFN" catchprase - "ta-ta for now", itself coming from BBC radio comedy It's That Man Again.

In 1974, he earned a Grammy for best children's recording with The Most Wonderful Things About Tiggers from the film Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too.

Born in 1922 in New York, Winchell contracted polio aged six but beat speech impediments as he learned to throw his own voice.

In 1988 he told the Associated Press news agency: I first met Walt Disney 25 or 30 years ago. He said, 'We're both in the same business. I use cartoons and you use dummies and we both entertain children.'

"That was long before I started working here. Walt gave me a VIP tour of the studio. I remember people doing voices. I said, 'Gee, that must be fun.' And here I am."

Just wanted to let you know that these are 'officially' out and released now. Apparantly they had some issues with pricing because some of them have stickers over with a new price. The mother's day small beanies were supposed to be 5.50 but now have a sticker over them and are only 3.50...the Pooh Mother's Day ones are 4.50. And the
LBBP with Flowers were supposed to be 12.50 but not have stickers over that and are only 9.50 =)

Disneyland has their 50th Anniversary beanies out (Happiest Place on Earth). They are different than the ones at WDW. The set includes Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy. Each beanie is dressed after one of the lands at disneyland. They retail for 10 dollars each. I found the set in California Adventure at the Resort. I did not go into Disneyland itself, so I dont know if they are there.

I went to my local disney store (California) today and they had the following beanies. Easter: Pooh, Gopher, Sulley, Tigger, Stitch, Mickey, Piglet, Eeyore, Penny, Nemo, and Cheshire. ALso they had the Flutter Wings stitch, pooh and eeyore. These 3 items were placed with the beanies however on their tag it doesnt say if they are beanbags or plush. All of these items cost 8.50.

WALT DISNEY has effectively abandoned plans to sell its European retail chain after failing to agree terms with a series of prospective buyers.
The media giant is understood to have decided to retain the 106 stores in the UK and continental Europe after a recent sales improvement.

Disney had been in negotiations with several potential management buy-in teams. One was fronted by Peter Morris, the former chief executive of Coffee Republic, and another by Pierre-Yves Gerbeau, the former boss of the Millennium Dome and an ex-Disney man.

The company also held talks with the management of the retail business about a buyout valued at around �50m, but these have now ended.

The Walt Disney Co. will sell its chain of 313 mall-based retail stores to The Children's Place while continuing to sells dolls, toys and other Disney-branded products through its own catalog and Web site, it was announced Wednesday.

The Children's Place Retail Stores Inc said the deal to buy Disney's North American stores was expected to close next month.

The Children's Place, based in Secaucus N.J., will continue to operate the stores under the Disney name with a 15-year licensing agreement and three, 10-year renewal options.

It will not make an upfront payment to Disney. Instead, it will provide a "working capital adjustment payment," valued by one analyst at $50 million to $100 million.

The payment will be based on the value of inventory at the stores at the time the deal closes. The cost of the licensing deal was not disclosed.

The royalty will not begin until two years from the closing date to give Children's Place time to remodel and operate the stores.

Disney has been trying to unload its stores as part of a larger effort to dispose of noncore assets such as sports teams. The once-profitable retail chain hit a high of 700 stores in 2000. Since then, Disney has been trimming the number of stores, while losing money on the operation.

Children's Place has agreed to invest up to $100 million in the remaining stores, with half of that coming at closing. It intends to fund the deal from cash on hand and short-term borrowing. It does not expect to seek long-term borrowing or issue stock as a result of the deal.

Disney will continue to operate the stores located inside its theme parks, as well as the flagship Fifth Avenue store in New York. The stores will be run by Disney's theme park division instead of its consumer products arm.

Disney is continuing to seek a buyer for its European stores.

Children's Place will sell items online from its retail stores, using the Web site www.disneystore.com.

Last week, Disney switched its Internet retail operation to www.disneydirect.com.

Disney will continue to sell similar toys and items on its Web site and through its mail order catalog, operating as a competitor to the retail stores on items such as plush toys. The company will sell other merchandise, such as snow globes, exclusively.

Disney's consumer products division has been operating at a profit recently as it began to license products to large retailers such as Wal-Mart while creating specialty lines of merchandise.

Disney has also entered the consumer electronics business, selling Disney-themed computers, telephones and DVD players.

The deal was announced before the start of market trading on Wednesday. Shares of Children's Place were up more nearly 19 percent, or $4.67, to close at $29.63 on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

Disney shares fell 15 cents to close at $24.74 on the New York Stock Exchange.

I had a bad experience today. I have been a loyal customer since the store opened about 10 years ago and many of the staff know me by name.Have spent thousands of dollars in that store. Have never had any problems till today. I went to return some beanies that I had been asked to get for someone overseas who then changed her mind. I had my receipt but was told I couldn't return them b/c it was after 30 days, 33 to be exact. In the past I have returned things 2 or more months later and never had a problem. I know that recently they changed the wording on the back of the bill and it says you have 60 days to do a return. There is a section that says no returns at all for collectibles and artwork, but in the past I was always told this was for things like art cells, lithographs, etc. I was at the same store a week ago and had no problems returning my items, but today a different person dealt with me. The people I usually deal with were not there. Today's person told me they usually do not accept ANY beanies for return, even before 30 days, ie, they are always final sale , even at full price. Is this true??!! it is news to me. By the way, this was the manager I dealt with. She said they make an exception and accept beanies before 30 days but that they shouldn't even do this and could get in trouble for this. But under no circumstances can they take back beanies after 30 days. In the past, I was told 60 days as long as I have the receipt, which I always keep. I was so disappointed, as had I known, I would have gone back to the store sooner, but I live far away and do not have a car. This was in Canada by the way, but I assume the return policy is the same in the US. Would love to know what others have experienced. Thanks a bunch.

Also, the manager was being really difficult and asked to see photo ID to do a return ( before she looked at the date on the receipt), which I have never been asked to show before. I don't drive, so don't even have photo ID. I usually just print my name and address on the return bill, but she insisted I show ID.

Well for the Flower and Garden show there has been 3. First year there was Farmer Mickey holding a basket of apples. Also with him was Minnie holding a basket of flowers. Release date was April 25,2003. The next year it was Farmer Mickey only he has on an apron and a yellow hat and is holding a rake. As for the Marathon, there was Mickey and Donald both wearing running outfits. They were released on Janaury 10,2004. I think Nancy has pics in here history pages. I was there a couple of days ago and neither Olympic nor mbbp was on sale. They also did not have many of either in stock (but that doesn't mean they won't get more). My store told me after Labor Day weekend for new items.
