... take away someone else's right to breathe the air as it was before you started filling it up with your smoke (even outside), so by your own argument you are in the wrong (i.e. depriving someone of their own rights), since you do have the ability to not smoke (i.e. you choose), whereas the other person does not, in effect, have the right to stop breathing (i.e. he has no 'choice' in that matter) in the case of the shared space. for you to do so in the face of the nonsmoker's presence is to shirk your rights and responsibilities as a US citizen (plus it reflect badly on your momma for not teaching you right, lol), you communist pinko! it's not a matter of manners, but your durty as a citizen of this country who upholds the Constitution to make sure that others don't HAVE TO breathe your smoke ... the burden definitely falls upon the smoker in almost all cases, imo.

also, there can be no 'smoking section' in a restaurant without a totally different (and totally independent) ventilation situation, as by the laws of molecular diffusion, smoke will disperse until it becomes equal in concentration in all the area of volume in a space.
