Hi,
I don't know if this is what you're looking for or not, but I'm a 52 year old dyslexic who had the good fortune to have a determined mother. She relized I was having trouble learning and read everything she could find on reading problems, and had other members of her family searching for ideas (we lived in rural Arkansas in the 1960's so there wasn't any help from the education system, I was actually in a reading group called the turtles). I traced sandpaper letters, made letters out of clay, sang songs she made up and was constantly bombarded with reading material. Notes, letters, signs, books, it didn't matter what it was as long as it had letters in it. It took almost three years for me to learn how to read but I did, and I have a B.S. in education. If I can help you let me know,
Rosemary

I have been tutoring students for the last two years with a multi-sensory Orton-Gilliham program. To make a long story short, all of my students are close to grade level or above their current grade level. Most of the students started at least 2 to 3 grade levels behind. Multi-sensory approach works. I have notice it takes about 8 months to see results. You need to be consisted and use the program at least 3x a week for 50 minutes to see results. Can you do that in a classroom? Being a former classroom teacher, I question if you can accommodate those needs. I think you can, but you need support from the school system to achieve this goal. I am sadden by the amount of children not getting their needs meet.
