Marty,

While I acknowledge your coaching skills are definitely amoungst some of the best in this country, I question your experience and knowledge of international level canoepolo and the application of ICF rules therein.

I would be interested to hear what recent playing and refereeing experiences you have had at an international level (ie not Australia: who didn't have either of their national teams place in the top 3 at the last world champs) from which you seem to have formed such strong opinions.

Perhaps some of your knowledge could be utilised in gaining a respectable refereeing accreditation, at least within your own country and perhaps even ICF
-(then you could come back and teach us all a thing or two)

Had you experienced a Referees briefing at a recent World Champsionship, you would know that practically every country has a different opinion on how certain rules should be interpretated. More than half of the clarifications at the last world championships were contested without all parties agreeing.

E.g.At one point, the French Chief Referee asserted (and it was specifically written down in the clarifications) that all obstruction outside the 6m would be an immediate green card. Of course the Australian contingent present hotly contested this point and eventually the discussion subsided with mutterings of "we'll just ref it our way"

Unfortunately, interpretation at an international level, ("rest of world"?) is not as black and white as you are attempting to portray it to be.

Some refs will ref it one way, and some another.

p.s.The NL refs briefing will be @ 11am on Saturday, See ya there:o)
