Subject: HAVE AT IT SECTION for comments on the episode. (Did I mention this is be kind to Brumby week? LOL)
In reply to: Jubellant 's message, "The episode we are voting on this week for Favourite Mac Visual and Favourite Mac Quote is the last one in Season Five entitled 'Surface Warfare'. This is the episode where Bud lands in the brig trying to defend his brother Mikey who is accused of almost killing fifteen Marines in an exercise. Mac fares scarcely better and Harm is sent down to smooth feathers. The SecNav and Admiral get involved and then there is a mad dash to make it back for a speech the Admiral has to give and guess who shows up to surprise Mac, Brumby :)! Voting ends Sunday at midnight ET." on 13:34:56 08/18/08 Mon

[> [> I am ducking from the tomatoes now, but like him or not, I thought Brumby looked dashing in his tux and I am glad Mac did not have to go solo to the affair. Ya ya Harm looked great too but he always looks great LOL! -- Jubellant (remember this is be kind to Brumby week!), 18:06:56 08/20/08 Wed

[> [> Ok so Mic just shows up is Mac happy to see him? Yes, but does he assume just a little too much here??? What if she did not want to see him? He resigns his commission and moves back to be with her without telling her??? He just shows up??? -- jagnut, 16:12:54 08/22/08 Fri

[> [> [> Yup, that is what taking a leap of faith is all about. It was risky, bold and made a huge statement about how he felt about her. If dreamers always stopped to think what if, we would have missed out on many great things. Worse case scenario is she gives him the heave ho and he returns home dusts himself off and gets on with his life knowing he did all he could to pursue the women he loved. -- Jubellant, 06:41:07 08/23/08 Sat

[> [> [> [> Would you not want to know the answer before you moved half way around the world and lost your career? They have phones in Austrailia as evidenced by an episode earlier. LOL! -- jagnut, 14:02:07 08/23/08 Sat

[> [> [> [> [> It was the element of surprise and hedging his bets. It would either be a brilliant move if successful or a painfully stupid one. I've heard too many stories from people who pursued their dreams and took chances most of us would never take and miraculously at the end of it all, in spite of overwhelming odds against them, they accomplished their dreams. As evidenced later in time Mic did not have any trouble returning to the Navy. I think he was hoping the gesture would sweep Mac off her feet! However shocked and pressured was more the outcome at first but I think he started to grow on her. -- Jubellant, 16:26:57 08/23/08 Sat

[> [> [> [> [> [> He should've discussed it with her first....& when he did arrive, he should've told her privately what he had done, instead of announcing to everyone without giving Mac any heads up. That was a guilt tactic that Mic would use later, & it was also a habit of Mic's to not discuss things with her (opening up his own firm, Harm & Bud knew about it before Mac did)....Its one thing to make a spontaneous decision that effects only you, but Mic should've really told Mac what he was thinking instead of just surprise!!! -- Jennifer, 09:56:11 08/24/08 Sun
