Akira tensed as the doe lifted her head, and Keso followed his lead by being very still. Akira waited. He barely even drew breath. Keso shifted, unused to being so still, but he kept quiet. He had watched his father hunt many many times. If his prey began to suspect his presence, he would freez. He once sat silently, not moving a single muscle, for two hours. Then he finally made his kill.
But at this hunt, he did not wait as long. Fifteen minutes. Just to try to assure the doe that they were not there. Keso became restless, but disciplined himself not to make a noise. Finally, Akira looked to Elena and Sierra. He nodded his head, ever so slightly. They could rush in now, and as soon as they did, he and Keso would follow, and overwhelm the doe.
