on what the meaning of is is.

Is the woman engaged in striking and pummeling the child, or is she [and the child] engaged in innocent tickling and horseplay. Is she a role model mother, like the people next door, or is she a crypto-child beater? Is she misunderstood, or is she what she appears to be?

A single swat on the bottom is one thing, more… five or six shots with a balled fist is another… and tossing the kid around to get her into the child seat is yet another – irony there.

If the camera fairly captured her actions, the lady needs to go to trial. Maybe she needs help, maybe the child does. Hell, maybe we all do if we can’t see the real issue here.

I wonder how the real issue is defined by the casual observer. This casual observer sees child abuse by an adult through use of psychological and physical intimidation. If a stranger did what was on the video to my child I’d want the person in jail – up to forever. Does a parent get a freebie?

I wonder what the parents of kidnapped and murdered children think about the incident. I wonder if they are for or against video surveillance. I wonder what they think should happen to the mother. No questions just a sense of wonder.

Ah, she’ll probably get off, sue the store for invasion of privacy, sue the police for unlawful and malicious prosecution, and probably set a trust fund up for her daughter, too good a mom that she is.
