People complained about the rigidity of NAFC but look at feis attendance now. We have weekends with 3 competing feises and all 3 have terrible attendance and lose money.

The COVID/inflexibility explanation is the sanitized version of what happened. People were generally happy with the NAFC and many loved their annual championship. Some frustration over rescheduling inflexibility during COVID certainly didn't justify those at the top (already named above) blowing the NAFC up and not having a replacement ready. There STILL isn't a replacement.

western US region looked to pull out first, New England was ready to be next. nothing to do with petri sisters. nafc did amazing volunteer work for MANY years but didn't adapt to the changing times, and had too many antiquated policies they wouldn't budge on. miss the centralized feis schedule but not the feis registration fees.
