Subject: It’s not a major though is it? Its a new feis

The only actual majors are Worlds, AI, NAIDC and whichever the UK has as their qualifier as those alternate. Someone who has been around longer than me (20 years) can explain why but those are the CLRG majors . Canadians don’t have to go to GBs in October and in the one time Canadian nationals ran it was in October. Most Canadian dancers are not in fact going to GBs… I am not sure the purpose of the event, cannot see it being a qualifier as each country gets 3. Is there going to be an American Nationals? Is NAIDC going to stop being a qualifier ? So a large feis in Calgary in the winter when some of the dancers have exams.
I do realize that there will always be a group that a date doesn’t work for but end of January is bad. Do dance schools run class now over Christmas to get the kids ready ?
