You clearly aren't actually Irish. It's about the heritage and pride, never mind aiming for a competition is a goal that can motivate or inspire someone. Just because they didn't meet you standards doesn't mean they shouldn't be there. Your attitude is everything wrong with dance. It's FANTASTIC that an art form that was nearly killed off by centuries of brutal colonial rule has become so popular that adults that never danced before are trying it is is a GIFT that feisanna have everything from toddlers to grandparents dancing. It's your issue that you can't celebrate that. Kindly learn not to be an elitist twat, and learn to care more about the culture you're dancing 🙄
