I visited this summer and tried both taxis and rent a car in ayia napa https://secrental.com/cyprus/ayia-napa/cars. Renting a car was far more convenient, especially for groups. Parking was generally manageable — free near some beaches, metered near city center. Having your own car saves time and lets you visit quieter beaches or restaurants outside the crowded zones. Also, taxi fares can pile up quickly, so if you’re staying for 3+ days, a car rental may even be cheaper overall.
