Subject: Being announced as the last place dancer is my child’s idea of a nightmare. Standing there for the entire awards ceremony with your last place award while your entire competition who beat you also gets called up is public humiliation.

Some well meaning parent probably got a hold of the full results sheet and either didn’t realize it wasn’t a recall list or made a terrible judgment call and thought it would be nice to award everyone.

Dancers already get the results sheets afterward and know where they placed. They don’t need it announced that they are in the bottom half.

If they wanted to recognize everyone, they could have announced the non-recall dancers in no particular order and had them all come on to the stage for a small award and recognition.
