I'm a Chicago native whose community was targeted by ICE for many months. Even with that, I still was a little "meh" when it came to calls to avoid a Chicago (Schaumburg) worlds based on ICE activity. Very much skip it if you feel uncomfortable, but it will likely be fine.

The outright murder of two citizens changed that. It feels inexcusable and unconscionable to travel here. Use your dollars and feet to send a message by opting out this year. Not even about individual safety anymore, just don't support this economy while the administration kills its own.
