Subject: Announcing the last place back at Feis, big n small…

Announcing placements last-to-first is a bad practice. While announcers may be trying to build suspense or create an exciting atmosphere, it often comes at the cost of the last dancer’s experience and sense of respect. People are usually most focused at the beginning of the announcements, which puts unnecessary attention on who placed last. The focus should be on celebrating the champion, not on publicly singling someone out.
