Subject: The fact of the matter is the majority of girls entered at Worlds can beat the vast majority of the boys
In reply to: ... 's message, "The fact that the ftm dancer placed so high shows that it really doesn't matter." on 05:43:30 04/21/26 Tue

Most of the boys entered at Worlds did so because they placed last in their Oireachtas group of like four dancers. I know many a novice/prizewinner boy compete at Worlds because of that situation. Worlds is usually the first time they have any real competition.

Obviously I didn't say all the boys. The boys that win usually are usually very talented and have put a lot of work in. But anyone who tries to say all the boys fit into that category is lying to themselves.

But all the girls have to work to get to Worlds so they are already have the mindset. So of course if you have girls used to working and boys used to coasting the girls are going to do better at Worlds.

The whole reason there are two groups is because CLRG thought boys were being discouraged by not winning their own trophies and the organization thought boys not being involved in Irish dance looked bad. It is all optics.
