He too was caught up in some chit chat while she was gone, some people wandering by and recognizing him and wondering what he had been up too for the past few years. A low breath escaped his lips and he smiled warmly when she came back to him. Kissing her cheek warmly, he welcomed her back into his lap. "Yeah, I came with him...told him he might be finding his own way home though." Winking teasingly, he cracked his beer open and took a long sip before he settled it into the sand and cuddled her closer to him. One hand moved down the curve of her neck, his eyes soft at he gazed at her. "Look at you, all tan and whatnot." She looked like a golden beach child that epitomized her family, healthy and all American. A low breath escaped his lips as he kissed her jaw again, holding her close. "I missed you..." His voice was a low murmur as he nuzzled her cheek again, his eyes sliding closed as he wished absently that he had met up with her somewhere a bit more private then this get together at the beach. It was nice to see everyone of course, but they were being far from social so it was really kind of pointless. He made a note to just put in a little bit of time there before he whisked her off to his own place - hopefully he would be able to hide her out there for a little while. One hand lifted to brush back her thick hair from her face, his gaze soft for a long moment as he gazed at her quietly. While he could often get quite broody and even tempermental, it wasn't like him to be so contentedly contemplative and reflective, especially not with the small smile he currently had playing on his lips.
