She adored the boy and so definitely wanted to get caught up with him, but not that very moment - much more keen about catching up with Cole, and not feeling guilty about neglecting her friend because at least she had agreed to alternate plans. She leaned in to his chest as he held her closer, her gaze warm on his as she smiled a bit - she hadn't done much that summer except lie out in the sun, which had been lovely and relaxing, but always felt a bit like a waste of her time when she had much more so wanted to be out here with him. At his admission, she sighed quietly and her eyes lightly shut even when he drew back a bit again and was staring at her, a small smile softening her own fine features. "I missed you too, Cole. I wanted to stay here, you know." She had worried that he would think she just didn't care to spend her summer with him, but then had been religious about calling him at least every other day - if only to leave him a message or check in - and hoped that he would be assured that she missed him by her devotion to staying in touch with him and keeping him informed about what she was up to and how she was spending her time. It wasn't like she felt she had to answer to him, it was just that she wanted him to be a part of her life. Her one arm still tight around his neck, her free fingers spread flat over his chest and her eyes fluttered open as she leaned in to catch his lips briefly though warmly.
